The two women didn't bother to turn on the hallway lights, making their way down the stairs in the dark. As they reached the middle of the staircase, they noticed a light on upstairs. They exchanged glances.

"Maybe someone forgot to turn off the lights," Yang Qiong said. She told Shen Qiuhua to wait and quickly sprinted upstairs.

Shen Qiuhua looked at her agile figure and then down at her own struggling steps, feeling a little jealous.

Yang Qiong came back down shortly after and whispered in her ear, "It's Principal Xu's office light. There are two people in her office, a man and a woman. It looks like they're arguing."

"A man and a woman? Arguing?" Shen Qiuhua thought for a moment before deciding to go up and take a look.

"What are you doing? Trying to help her?" Yang Qiong wasn't that kind-hearted.

"I'm guessing the man is her ex-husband. If I'm right, it's clear who the woman is. Don't you want to know why Principal Xu always picks on me? Let's see who this woman is."

"I only saw her back. I couldn't make out her face," Yang Qiong said as she helped Shen Qiuhua up the stairs.

As soon as they reached the third floor, they overheard Principal Xu's voice: "That house was something you agreed to give me back then, and now you want it back? I'm telling you, no way! Making a scene at the school won't change anything. I won't compromise!"

A curvaceous woman swayed her hips as she walked up to Principal Xu and giggled, "That's not quite right. You and him bought that house together. No matter how you calculate it, half of it should be his. But Kefeng has a soft spot for old times and gave it to you out of kindness. I didn't object. Now Kefeng needs some money and just wants to use the house as collateral. Once the funds come in, he'll return it to you. You were married once, can't you at least do him this small favor?"

The man, named Kefeng, also chimed in, "Yeah, I'm not taking it. I just need to borrow it for a while. Once I have the money, I'll give it back right away. Isn't that fair?"

Principal Xu frowned deeply as she looked at the man and woman standing before her. "There's no need for further discussion. The house is mine. I won't give it to you, not even as a loan."

The woman shook her head and sighed, "I told you she wouldn't agree. Kefeng, your ex-wife is really heartless! How did you ever fall for such an old, ugly, and ruthless woman? Good thing you woke up in time, or who knows what would have happened."

Kefeng felt embarrassed by his wife's words. He said in a low voice, "Xiaomei, are you really that heartless?"

Hearing this, Principal Xu's eyes reddened. "You're the heartless one. How dare you accuse me now. Shen Kefeng, we are no longer married. This is a school, a workplace. Stop making a scene here. Your problems are your own, and they have nothing to do with me anymore."

Outside the door, Shen Qiuhua and Yang Qiong exchanged glances. Shen Qiuhua whispered into Yang Qiong's ear, "Now I know why she doesn't like me, or anyone with the last name Shen."

Though she spoke softly, her breath tickled Yang Qiong's ear, rekindling the wolfish hunger in her just-satisfied heart, eager to devour the little rabbit once again.

While they whispered, the woman inside started yelling, "Xu Xiaomei, we're coming to you after hours out of courtesy. If you're going to be this heartless, we'll come tomorrow morning and let your colleagues see what kind of person you really are!"

"Are you sure what we'll see is Principal Xu's heartlessness and not your unreasonable behavior?" The calm voice was soft yet resolute, unmistakably feminine.
