Shen Qiuhua's expression had completely calmed down. "Thank you for your concern. But I still want to go. If you can help, I hope you'll let me go for Yang Qiong's sake. If not, I'll figure something out on my own." Her tone was flat, without a trace of emotion, but it carried an undeniable determination.
Chief Jin was helpless. Letting her figure it out herself would be even more dangerous.
Four hours later, Shen Qiuhua was sitting in Chief Liu's office. Chief Liu briefly recounted what had happened on their end the previous day. In truth, there wasn't much to say. After Yang Qiong's phone stopped connecting, they immediately took action. Using the tracking device left on Qiu Yuanxin's car by Yang Qiong, they found the club, but unfortunately, there were no leads. None of the club's surveillance footage showed Yang Qiong.
"Whose car was that?" Shen Qiuhua asked after hearing the story.
"A woman named Qiu Yuanxin. She's the deputy general manager of that club," Chief Liu explained.
"She's a former comrade of Yang Qiong. I'd like to meet her."
Normally, Shen Qiuhua, as a civilian, wouldn't have the right to make such a request. However, Chief Liu made an exception and allowed her into the interrogation room.
Qiu Yuanxin sat in the chair, looking a bit weary. When she saw Shen Qiuhua, her expression was one of surprise. She probably hadn't expected such a beautiful policewoman to be in the station.
"Hello, I'm Shen Qiuhua, a friend of Yang Qiong," Shen Qiuhua had wanted to meet Qiu Yuanxin alone, but Chief Liu and Chief Jin hadn't agreed. As a result, two female officers accompanied her into the room.
"Friend?" Qiu Yuanxin raised her eyebrows. After taking another look at Shen Qiuhua, she smiled bitterly. "Yang Qiong doesn't make many friends. You must be the one she's living with, right?"
"That's right. Yang Qiong has gone missing, and I'm here to find her. I hope you can tell me where she is." Shen Qiuhua's eyes were incredibly bright, as if they could see straight into someone's soul.
Qiu Yuanxin gave her a look that seemed to say, "Are you crazy?" She replied, "Even if I knew, I wouldn't tell you. If I did know, I'd be involved. Do you think I'd tell you?"
Shen Qiuhua ignored Qiu Yuanxin's look. "If you know, you should tell me because Yang Qiong considers you a friend. And as you said, she doesn't have many friends."
Qiu Yuanxin frowned. What was with this woman's stubborn logic? "I don't know."
"Why did Yang Qiong go back to your club?"
"How would I know? We run a business with open doors. It's normal for her to come by." Facing this delicate beauty, Qiu Yuanxin was fully confident she could handle her.
Shen Qiuhua indeed stopped talking. She quietly stared at Qiu Yuanxin for a full five minutes, making Qiu Yuanxin uncomfortable.
"Officers, I'd like to say something to Ms. Qiu in private, if that's okay?" A gentle smile curved Shen Qiuhua's lips, forming a perfect arc. Even women couldn't help but be charmed by her.
After consulting with Chief Liu, the two female officers stepped out.
The interrogation room had surveillance, but no sound could be heard. Influenced by Yang Qiong, Shen Qiuhua had already noticed the camera's location when she entered. She adjusted her posture slightly, turning her back to the camera.
"Ms. Qiu, there's no one else here now. I hope you can tell me the details of Yang Qiong's disappearance."
Qiu Yuanxin shook her head. "I really don't know."
