After finishing the chat, Yang Qiong left the café and immediately headed to KFC. In a corner on the second floor, Shen Qiuhua was sitting with a cup of cola, reading a book. From a distance, it was quite incongruous to see such a classical-looking woman drinking cola.

"Any attempts at flirting?" Yang Qiong asked before even sitting down.

Shen Qiuhua didn't look up, pulling the straw from her mouth and saying, "Just you."

'Always joking around, you're great', Yang Qiong thought with amusement.

"What did you talk about?" Shen Qiuhua set the cola down on the table. Yang Qiong grabbed a straw, dipped it into the cup, and took a sip.

"Just about the previous case." She briefly summarized, "Director Jin wants to recruit me as a police officer."

"Oh?" Shen Qiuhua raised an eyebrow. "Your skills are much better suited for modern times than ancient ones. Becoming a police officer would be quite fitting. Did you agree?"

Yang Qiong was about to shake her head but suddenly wanted to know Shen Qiuhua's stance, so she asked, "What do you think? Should I agree?"

"It's not about whether you should or shouldn't, but whether you will or won't," Shen Qiuhua put down her book, leaned back in her chair, and scrutinized Yang Qiong from top to bottom, making Yang Qiong feel uneasy. "You didn't agree," she stated with certainty.

"How can you tell?" Yang Qiong was surprised.

"You won't even take a private bodyguard job, so how could you take on a public duty?" Shen Qiuhua said lightly, though she knew Yang Qiong's refusal was mostly due to her. However, some things are better left unsaid, or Yang Qiong might get a bit self-important.

"You know me best."

As November rolled in, Shen Qiuhua and Yang Qiong received significant attention from city leaders after their case was reported. Such events were naturally used as exemplary cases to be widely promoted within the education system. The two of them were occupied with award ceremonies, giving reports, and attending seminars, which caused them to miss quite a few classes.

Additionally, Shen Qiuhua's beauty sparked considerable discussion. She was truly the 'most beautiful teacher'. As Shen Qiuhua's fame grew, her membership in the Calligraphy Association was also uncovered, turning her into a symbol of both beauty and talent. Yang Qiong's status seemed to be deliberately downplayed, so she had not been exposed much.

Looking at the stack of assignments, Shen Qiuhua frowned.

"What's wrong? With that frown, you could squash a mosquito," Teacher Zhang, the head of the senior-year language department, noticed Shen Qiuhua's expression and asked with concern.

"There are so many mistakes in the students' assignments," Shen Qiuhua said. The disruption of normal teaching due to her absences had affected the students' learning. Although she had been working hard to catch up, students' capacity to absorb new information was limited. Having three new lessons a day was impossible.

"You've had more extracurricular activities recently, which is inevitable. Don't worry, it will get better. There's still more than a month before the final exams," Zhang reassured her.

Shen Qiuhua nodded. "I understand. Thank you, Teacher Zhang."

The door opened, and Teacher Wang walked in with a stack of assignments. Closing the door behind her, she said conspiratorially, "Hey, Teacher Zhang, Xiao Shen, have you heard? The district is about to start the evaluation of excellent classes."

"I've heard," Teacher Zhang said. "But why be discreet?"

"Hey! Not that. It's that the next door is planning to take both slots," Wang said in a whisper, sounding secretive.
