Later, Teacher Cui was not sure whether she want to see the school head or not, but the outcome was that she was promoted and ranked third. To celebrate this good news, Teacher Cui, who was usually not very talkative, distributed candies to everyone in the office.

Shen Qiuhua ate the candy but didn't feel the sweetness. She saw Teacher Cui's diligent work and conscientiousness, and she could hear Teacher Cui's gasping when the results were announced, even from three rows away.

"It's really disappointing. I thought I could make more money, but it's only a little over a hundred. What was all that hard work for?" Yang Qiong said as she drove home.

"It really is disappointing," Shen Qiuhua murmured, looking out at the passing scenery.

The title assessment had finally come to a close. Those who were promoted were naturally happy, and those who weren't accepted it calmly. The entire school returned to its usual calm, but the senior Chinese department was anything but peaceful.

Previously, Shen Qiuhua had been occupying a position left vacant by a teacher on maternity leave. Now that the teacher had returned, Shen Qiuhua naturally had to give up the spot. That was not a problem, she would find another position- it was up to the school head to handle these arrangements anyway.

Unexpectedly, Director Xu, who was in charge of logistical matters, had not yet found a new position, and the teacher had already come back to work. Seeing the woman standing in front of her with a lot of things in her hands, Shen Qiuhua was somewhat taken aback.

"This is my spot. Who told you to sit here?" the woman said rudely.

Shen Qiuhua quickly reacted, standing up immediately and saying, "Teacher Wu, right? I didn't know you were coming back to work today. I'll move my things right away." As a newcomer, she knew to be respectful to senior staff.

To her surprise, Teacher Wu was unappreciative, angrily slamming her things down on Shen Qiuhua's desk, right on top of Shen Qiuhua's belongings.

Shen Qiuhua, who had already started moving her things, stopped immediately when her items were slammed. She took a step back and looked at her.

"Who are you? Why are you taking my spot?" Teacher Wu sat down on the chair without any courtesy, asking sternly.

Shen Qiuhua remained silent. She was not someone without a temper, she usually tolerated and yielded when she felt it was unnecessary to make a fuss. She had seen enough in her life to be bothered by these trivial matters... but Teacher Wu was being too rude.

At this point, the colleagues nearby finally noticed what was happening and gathered around to greet them.

Teacher Zhang said, "Xiao Wu, I didn't recognize you when you just came in. Xiao Shen is the new teacher who joined our school last semester. Director Xu asked her to temporarily use your spot. Knowing that you were coming back, she was just trying to find another spot for herself. She's a newcomer, so don't scare her. Let her get her things sorted out first, it'll be easier for you to organize your stuff too."

Teacher Wu looked at Zhang, "Teacher Zhang, it hasn't even been a year, and you're already speaking up for a newcomer. You used to be very nice to me, but now every word is in her favor. Is it because she's pretty? Or has she given you something good?"

Shen Qiuhua frowned, this person was clearly just making trouble.

Teacher Wang stepped in to mediate, "Teacher Wu, don't say that. How old is your baby now? Will the child be okay with you working? Let's change the topic."

Teacher Wu, being a mother, always brightened up when talking about her child. Teacher Wang, quick-witted, led Teacher Wu to her chair and chatted with her about her child.
