One month later Cat Grant made her last public appearance by way of a news conference. Kara waited in the wings behind a curtain till it was time for her to speak. Lena, Alex, Kelly, Sam, Lucy, Eliza, and Lilian were in the audience watching the 'farewell' speech. "And now! I'd like to welcome the new CEO of Cat Co Media...Miss Kara Danvers!" Cat announced. Kara walked out onto the stage wearing a power suit (something Lena suggested she wear just for this event).
"Kara started off as my assistant...and quickly moved up in the business. She went from a babbling assistant..the only one who could get my coffee correctly...to a reporter where she met her soulmate and now fiancé...to Editor And Chief...to now the next female CEO. Everyone..please help me welcome Kara Danvers!" Cat finished speaking before pulling Kara into a tight hug. "You got this Kara!" Cat whispered as they pulled apart.
Kara took her spot at the podium and looked over the crowd before she began speaking. "Thank you everyone! I am happy to become the next CEO of Cat Co. I look forward to doing my part in taking Cat Co into the future. I learned everything I know about the news industry from Cat herself. From day one Cat took me under her wing, she was my mentor, and friend...you could have knocked me over with a feather when Cat called me into her office to tell me that I'd be the new CEO. Thank you Cat, for teaching me everything you know." As Kara spoke..cameras flashed in her face and questions were shouted up at her. "That is all! We will not be answering any questions at this moment! Thank you everyone for coming!" Kara stated before she and Cat walked off stage together.
A few minutes later Kara quickly found Lena standing away from the crowd with a smile on her face and her arms open. Kara quickened her pace and quickly pulled Lena into a hug. "I am so proud of you Kara!" Lena gushed. "Thank you Lee!" Kara replied. "You did so good up there." Lena added. "Thanks..where's everyone else?" Kara asked. "Waiting for us at the restaurant. We're taking you out to celebrate darling." Lena replied just as a limo pulled up behind them.
