(Y/N) glanced at Amar, who nodded as he speared a piece of meat and put it in his mouth, and asked, "Um... Miss Shreya? Would it be alright if we went to this concert on Saturday with Jess and Kana? It starts at seven-thirty, so we'd be back around eleven... is that okay with you?"

"With Jess and... Kana?" She looked skeptical, a frown on her lips.

Both of the teenagers flinched when hearing this, exchanging a look once more with each other when knowing what she meant. They both had a feeling that Shreya didn't like Kana, and this was only confirmed from how she reacted when hearing they'd be going with the girl. And it wasn't as if this dislike was unwarranted, Kana having not been too quiet when talking about her 'boy adventures,' as she dubbed it when being at their house.

"Yeah, she said she'd be fine with picking us up around seven, so... are you cool with that, Mom?" Amar set down his utensils, his brown eyes pleading as he stared into her own.

"I don't know... who is that you're seeing again?" She continued. "And where?"

"We're seeing this guy named Valentine? I don't know who he is, but Kana likes him though, and apparently he's performing at the Rentarro Dome," he answered, watching as Shreya picked up her phone and Googled the place and person. "Please, Mom? We'll be safe, and we'll be sure to text or call you if there's any problems."

"Well..." she sighed, looking into the begging eyes of her children. "Alright, then. Just... please be safe."

"Thanks, Miss Shreya!"

"Thanks, Mom."

Amar and (Y/N) locked eyes, victory flashing within while barely restrained smiles permeated their lips. The next morning, the two hurried through their morning routine just to get out the door, meeting up with Jess and Kana halfway—they too chattering away about plans for that upcoming weekend.

"Hey, guys!" (Y/N) shouted as she ran to catch up with them, grinning in success. "She said yes! We can go!"

"Really!?" Kana squealed, her brown cheeks flushing in delight. "That's awesome! My dad already bought the tickets for us—gotta love how rich he is, right?—and they're really good seats!"

"Thanks, Kana," Amar rolled his eyes, however a small smile tugging at the corners of his mouth. "Even though I don't particularly care for this 'Valentine' guy, it's fun being able to plan something like this. I feel bad that we're relying on you to pay for stuff, so, just wanted to say... thanks."

She blinked up at him, a bit surprised, before a smirk appeared on her lips.

"It's no problem," she shrugged, looking a bit haughty now and making Amar now roll his eyes. "I'm just that great, aren't I?"

"Yeah, yeah," (Y/N) chuckled.

"Come on, just admit I'm pretty awesome," Kana snickered as she looked up from her phone, raising a knowing brow at (Y/N) and Jess who merely continued laughing from her sudden surge of confidence—then again, there was never a time when Kana wasn't confidant. "What? Why are you acting so weird? Just can't admit it?"

"They always act weird," Amar groaned, rolling his neck back dramatically. "Haven't you already learned this, Kana?"

"Says you," she pointed out.

"Well, at least there is one thing good that came out of this," Jess closed her eyes briefly as she shook her head, raising her hands in another half-shrug, commenting, "it's so nice to see you two love birds finally getting along." Sniffling and acting as if she were crying from joy, she placed a hand to her heart, "Oh, how happy you have made me."

"What the hell?" Amar grimaced in actual disgust, Kana doing the same not even a second later.

(Y/N) restrained the urge to laugh, watching as both cringed from Jess' words—words that were rather sappy in hindsight. More so, even in a joking manner, both Amar and Kana could not ever see themselves with the other. If anything, they felt they were more like siblings rather than people who should be in a romantic relationship.

"Jess... ew," Kana exclaimed with a dramatic shake of her head, physically looking pained as she set a hand on her shoulder. "How could you even joke about that? Just look at Amar." Gesturing to Amar as a whole, she continued, "He's just so... Amar."

"Hah?" He frowned. "The hell's that supposed to mean?"

"Exactly as I said!"

"Uh-huh, says the girl who's always trying to kill me," he uttered as he crossed his arms.

"That 'cause you deserve it!"

"That doesn't make sense!"

"Yes, it does!"

The two continued to argue, Jess now trying to hold Kana back from tackling Amar for the nth time, and (Y/N) standing a little bit off to the side, crossing her arms over her chest and snickering as she watched the event play out. When seeing something moving out of the corner of her eye, she glanced down the sidewalk, her eyebrows raising when seeing who it was.

Isn't that... Jian Da?

The guy I met at the cemetery yesterday?

Frowning at that, she turned back towards her friends and said, "Hey, guys? Come on, enough fighting. We should already be at school by now."

"Hah..." Kana exhaled softly, cracking her neck and shooting Amar a glare who sent one right back at her. "Fine. I'll let Amar go for now. But only because (Y/N) asked so nicely."

"You two just won't stop, will you?" Jess exhaled, giving Amar a wry smile.

"What can I say?" He muttered with a roll of his eyes. "Kana's stubborn."

(Y/N) chuckled as she playfully ruffled Amar's hair, missing the way his eyes widened at her casual touch. While doing so, she couldn't help but glance behind her, locking eyes with Jian and practically freezing when he shot her a smirk. Pulling her hand away, she looked forward, clicking her tongue in irritation.

Jerk.
