Amar jumped from the sudden trill of his phone that alerted him to anything sent out, shakily pulling it out in fear that it would be Roselle's text of all the dirt she gathered on his friends, and almost couldn't believe what he was seeing when reading the text.

"What the..." he muttered as he set the device down, completely baffled.

"What is it?" (Y/N) asked from beside him, currently the two sitting in the abandoned Chemistry classroom trying to figure out what to do. "Was that Roselle? What did she say?"

"No, it's not that..." he shook his head, incredulity lacing his tone. "She... wants to break up with me."

(Y/N) bit back a smile.

Good job, Silvius.

Her mood however crumbled when seeing that Amar's expression of worry didn't fade, voicing her thoughts, "Isn't that a good thing, though? Why do you still look so upset? Don't tell me that you... that you actually had feelings for her?"

"Fuck no! That's disgusting, (Y/N)!" He shuddered at the mere thought of such a thing, seemingly almost insulted that she even thought so. "It's just... she still has that blackmail about you. And... and everyone else, too."

"Oh..."

Shit.

I forgot to tell Silvius about that...

Wait... did I?

Oh... I said that Roselle threatened to leak something but I didn't say what and where it was...

Shit.

Opening her mouth to try and comfort Amar, Silvius' sudden appearance in the doorway made her stop, excusing herself to let him wallow in worry. Approaching Silvius, she startled when he took her hand and then placed a practically diamond-encrusted phone into the palm.

"What is—"

He cut her off before she could ask anything else, "It's Roselle's phone. Before I left her, I made sure she agreed to end things with Amar and then I took her phone. Knowing her, it's likely that she hasn't saved anything to any other hardware, so once you delete whatever dirt she found on you guys, then it's gone for good. And there's no password."

"R-Really?" She stuttered, almost finding the information too good to be true, especially since she had been worried about it not even a a few seconds ago.

"Yeah."

"That's... amazing!" She whispered in excitement, her smile growing as she clutched the phone tighter to her chest. "Thank you, Silvius. Really."

Before he could say anything more, (Y/N) pulled him in for a hug. His body stiffened at the foreign contact, having never been too close to another girl besides her where he could have been able to do these kind of things. But that didn't mean that he abhorred it if it wasn't her. In fact, (Y/N)'s body was warm, and it gradually lessened the stiffness in his bones. But then again the hug was cut all too short.

"Thank you again," she shook her head in wonder as she gazed at Roselle's phone. "All I'm wondering is how you were able to get this off of her. She never seems to let go of it. How you were able to do any of the impossibilities that I asked is crazy! And... I'm grateful. I honestly didn't expect you to go this far to help me..."

"You're a friend," he stated, his voice rough and gravelly as if he hadn't spoken for a while—but it was really just the effects of (Y/N)'s sudden hug. "When seeing you work so hard for your friend... I wanted to do something for you—my friend."

"I'm pretty lucky to have you, then," she shot him one last smile before disappearing into the Chemistry room again.

Silvius stood there in the silent hallway after she left for only a moment more before peering into the room cautiously, the sight before him making his blood freeze in his veins: (Y/N), showing off Roselle's phone to Amar before he then launched himself at her and showered her with a hug and a kiss to the forehead and cheek. He knew they were basically siblings even though they shared no actual relation to each other, but watching them act so close to one another irritated him.

He didn't even know why.

Pulling his phone out, staring at the picture he took of her discreetly and on a whim when she was speaking with him and had shown him that smile of hers, he couldn't help but wish that she as his one friend there would only look at him like that. He knew that he now relied on her and her presence there to help him cope with this new school. He only wished that she also relied on him. Pocketing the item with a small exhale of breath, he shoved his hands in his pockets with his phone and left.

He didn't like looking at (Y/N) with Amar.

It soured his mood.

Passing by another secluded and empty classroom to the cafeteria to snag some food before fifth period, he stopped when the harsh clatter of something thrown against the door drew his attention away from the soft growling in his stomach. Arching a brow at the sound and how the door shook upon impact, he drew closer to the window carved into the wood and peered through.

His gaze immediately caught on Roselle.

Her appearance looked rather haggard due to how messed up her hair was, how her mascara streaked down her cheeks in black lines, and how much more pale her skin seemed.

"It's your fault! It's your fault this has happened!" Roselle screeched as she threw book after book and chair after chair around the room, practically destroying everything in the process in time with her little tantrum. "It's your fault he can't be mine! He loved me! He did! And then you came along and messed things up! I hate you (Y/N)!"

Oh.

So that's how it is.

Letting his eyes narrow, he didn't glance back as he walked away from the door, his steps echoing in the empty hallway.
