When seeing Mr

When seeing Mr. Orval dead—the headmaster of Florens institution—all panic broke loose. Parents grabbed their kids and rushed somewhere in the school in hopes of finding a way to escape, the alarm still blaring overhead that made it almost impossible to hear anything else. What made them only panic more was that they couldn't get service to call anyone, something jamming the usually good signal.

"Amar, we need to get out of here!" (Y/N) rushed out, flinching when the lights started going on and off again.

"Obviously," he affirmed, about to grab her hand when someone shoved them apart.

"Amar!" She yelled, unable to tell who was who in the flickering lights, her breathing growing shallow when he didn't answer her. "Amar!"

Shit!

Shit!

Shit!

She didn't want to leave the room since someone had shot a gun, something that confused her since Mr. Orval hadn't been in that room prior, and the wounds on his body looked more like knife wounds than anything. However, she assumed that the shot and the murder was all committed by the same deranged person who wanted to cause fear and hysteria.

So, she had to calm down.

Think rationally.

Not let her fears get the better of her.

But even as she told herself this, her legs still shook as they practically forced her out of the room, trying to find Amar whom she was separated from again. But with every hallway she took, every classroom she checked, and every locked door and window that led outside she hoped would be open, her confidence in herself dwindled. Currently standing in front of another locked door, the paned slit of a window reflecting her terrified expression, she could feel her throat start to tighten.

The darkness.

The ringing.

The shadows that danced along the walls.

The laughter that echoed along the floors and walls that sounded eerily familiar.

"No..." (Y/N) whispered as she crouched down and out her hands over her ears, eyes wide as a cold sweat started to drip down her back. "No, no, no! She's dead! She's gone! This can't be her... this can't be here... you escaped! You survived!"

But what if I didn't?

What if I'm dreaming, and when I awaken... I'll still be in that same constricting room?

As the dam to her emotions cracked, tears rolling down her face as she sobbed to herself, wishing with all her might that she had truly escaped from Roselle's wrath, the onslaught of everything crashing down on her at once flipped something within her. Just like that, her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she collapsed, vision turning black. The next time she awoke, her fears were realized. Her legs and arms were bound to a chair while she was gagged with some sort of cloth, hyperventilating when realizing that just like with Roselle, she wasn't able to escape no matter how much she struggled.

No!

No!

I escaped!

I-I escaped!

Screaming into the gag, rubbing her wrists raw with her movements, (Y/N) instantly stilled when someone clicked their tongue at her actions, watching with wide eyes as someone stalked forward out of the shadows.

But it wasn't Roselle.

It was Nicolai.

And he was covered in blood.

"W-Wha—?" She yelled out hoarsely in her gag, pleading him with her eyes to untie her.

Nicolai merely stared down at her with those piercing amber eyes of his, nothing but a cold reflection staring back at her that told her to give up. He was never going to help her escape, not when it meant that he could have her all to himself.

"You know..." he started as he pulled up a chair to sit down opposite her, propping his arm up on the back so he could rest his head on his fists. "...I really like you in this position."

"MMPH!" (Y/N) screeched once more, jerking forward.

"Your sounds are so adorable," he smiled, watching as she recoiled from his words. "Once this is all over, I do hope to hear you moaning my name..."

She was disgusted.

Her nostrils flaring and eyes sharpening into a glare, she shook her head hastily and continued struggling. Nicolai sighed, but she didn't care. One way or another, she was hellbent on escaping from the deranged boy, wishing that she had seen all the signs sooner and would have just done something to change his feelings toward her. Or maybe she should have just told Amar when she had the chance instead of sitting there tied up like Nicolai's possession that he could play with whenever he felt like it.

"You know... struggle all you want, but no one's coming to help you," he said as he gazed at her steadily, never once breaking eye contact.

She only growled at him.

"Honestly, this is really starting to piss me off," he muttered, standing up and shoving the chair away until it clattered harshly against the floor, snatching (Y/M)'s attention away from trying to escape. "This little... rebellious act of yours can only go on for so long, you know? Sooner to later, you will bend. And then you will break. But I'll still love you. After all, a valuable toy doesn't hold any less meaning even if it is broken, doesn't it?"

She shivered at his words.

As he approached her even closer, crouching down so he was at eye level with her, she flinched when he lifted her chin with two fingers so that she was then staring into his eyes.

She saw only absolute infatuation.

It terrified her.

As her gaze drifted down to the dried blood on his clothes and hands, the heavy smell of iron filling her nostrils, she could feel herself start to tear up again. Nicolai, seeming to notice this sudden shift in her, only laughed loudly in amusement before pulling out a knife from his pocket, twirling it around his fingers to then stop the blade right on her neck.

"You know whose blood this is? Who I killed with this knife?" He chuckled darkly. "That's right. I killed my fucking, shitty father.
