Fear.(Y/N) could only feel pure fear as she stared into Nicolai's eyes, nothing but truth and lack of regret shining in his gaze, something that made her shiver automatically despite her wanting to look unbothered by the fact that he killed his father. But how could she. He had killed someone, and he was glad about it.
"You look so scared right now," Nicolai laughed as he then slid his knife up her neck and toward her cheek, tapping the blade against her skin. "But don't worry. I would never do anything to hurt you. Well... to the extent that it'll make it so you can never run away from me."
As tears ran down her face, he wiping them away but smearing blood on her face, she wished that everything was all just a dream.
A horrible dream that turned into a nightmare.
But one she could wake up from.
"You know..." Nicolai hummed as he rolled his eyes toward the ceiling in thought. "...I think I forgot to mention why I killed my shitty old man in the first place. No wonder you're frozen stiff like this. Remember that night when you had dinner at my place and he kept asking you such personal questions? Well... turns out... he was fucking investigating you!"
(Y/N) swallowed thickly.
Investigating me?
Why?
What purpose did he have for doing that?
"I know, crazy, right!?" He laughed maniacally when seeing the disbelieving look cross her features. "Ah... but it's okay. Since he tried to tear us apart, I merely returned the favor."
(Y/N) could feel the bile rise in her throat at that comment, her mind flashing with images of Mr. Orval's bloody corpse. But now, the words that had been scrawled across his face now made since if he was investigating her and Nicolai had killed him because of that. But then she wondered where the gun he had used was, knowing that he had killed his father with a knife, but someone had shot the gun before his body was revealed on stage.
She didn't want to ask though.
Unfortunately, it seemed as if the Gods of Luck weren't looking down at her at all since another shot rang out. Crying out in her gag from the blinding sound, head bent while she hunched into herself, waiting for pain to bloom through her body, she only looked up when hearing Nicolai grunt in agony as he clutched his arm. Her eyes widened when seeing the scarlet blood that now dropped down his dark skin, puddling on the floor and making a steady circle of the liquid.
Her gaze then turned to the one who had shot.
"Get the fuck away from her," Silvius snarled, his white hair messy with some strands stuck to his forehead due to sweat, his honeyed eyes almost primal that went well with the scowl on his lips that showcased his teeth. "Do that, and I just might let your death be an easy one."
"Fucking... bastard..." Nicolai growled as his chest heaved up and down. "You'll pay for that."
"I doubt it," he answered, shooting Nicolai again and watching as the bullet hit him in the chest, the impact knocking him to the floor and leaving him there, his limbs twitching before falling still.
He then turned to (Y/N).
His gaze was intense and heavy, making her feel almost suffocated due to his stare. Then when he started walking over to her, completely ignoring her muffled pleas for help, he knelt down beside her and brushed the pads of his fingers across her face, moving aside stray strands of hair with a small smile.
"You're so pretty..." he mumbled, his eyes tracing her features. "So much better than her..."
Her?
Who's 'her!?'
Silvius didn't seem to notice (Y/N)'s confusion or panic, gazing down at her gagged lips with highlighted curiosity. Swiping his thumb down the material, he tore it off in one swift motion and then his lips were on hers. It was so startling that she didn't have any time to react, her eyes widening as his only closed while deepening the kiss.
He poured out all his feelings.
All his wants and desires for her into that kiss.
When he pulled away, only left craving for more, he reinstated the gag and drew backwards so that he was a couple of feet away from her. As he let his hand cover the partiality of his face, blood drawing in his cheeks, he knew that if he went back any closer to her, he would take it a step farther.
He wanted to wait, though.
Wait until it was just them together, forever.
"I can't believe I only ever saw you as a friend at first..." Silvius laughed to himself while (Y/N) was still trying to process the last minute, her lips still tingling where he had kissed her. "I can't believe I was still so obsessed with her... when I had you right in front of me."
Her brows drew together.
Who is he talking about?
Who is this 'her?'
Silvius finally saw the confusion on (Y/N)'s face, saying, "Sorry, I haven't explained myself, have I? Her name... was Kamari Innes. She attended my old school, and I absolutely loved her. But she only ever saw me as a friend. And if I was only that to her while someone else was able to love her in a way she never could with me, then such a thing shouldn't be possible. So I killed her."
Huh?
Huh!?
He killed her!?
What the fuck is wrong with these people!?
Now full on struggling again, whimpering into her gag when she rubbed her wrists and ankles the wrong way, she tried to ignore the way Silvius' eyes were boring into her.
"Are you trying to escape?" He muttered. "Is this your way of saying that you don't love me either?"
She didn't answer.
"I see, then," he said slowly as he raised his gun, about to shoot. "If I kill both of us... wouldn't that mean that we'll be together in Hell for eternity?"
His finger grazed the trigger.
He was then tackled to the floor.
