"Engagement?" Lisa looked down at Diana.

He was in Beijing a few days ago. Even though his subordinates had accepted the invitation in his place, he was too busy to notice it.

With a slight suspicion in his eyes, he stared at Jennie's disappearing figure.

"Even though we are not friends with the Jung Family's daughter, but our family is still familiar with each other in the business world. I had received the invitation on behalf of our family, so you must participate it too." Diana approached Lisa with a face full of dependence, her watery eyes glistening with hope.

"I heard that Vice President Kai will be promoted and I also heard that your relationship with him are not good. I heard that he had set up an Anti-Corruption Unit in Jung Company to investigate all the major and minor issues within the company."

"Anti-corruption?" Lisa laughed coldly, "You're talking about Kai?"

Lisa pulled his arm away from Diana's grip and looked at the watch on his wrist. He then took his coat and walked to the door without looking back.

"Eh? Lisa!" Diana looked at him in astonishment. "This weekend is the Mid-Autumn Festival. Grandpa said you haven't visited him for a while. Will you come with me too?"

Lisa didn't stop, nor did he respond to her question. In the blink of an eye, he was gone.

Diana looked at the door, which no longer showed Lisa's figure, in disbelief. Her slender nails were clamped tightly on her palms.

"Diana, Lisa is finally married. No matter how much he loves you, there will always be a suitable distance for you two. You have to get used to it." Chitthip comforted her gently.

Diana blinked and looked at her adoptive mother in surprise. "Mom, you--"

"What's wrong?"

"Didn't you know about Jennie's past? Didn't Nancy already tell you while we were in Boston? That Jennie, she--"

"What had happened in the past was due to the mistakes of the previous generation. It wasn't Jennie's fault. Moreover, she is a good girl. Lisa is already married to her. Since both of them had already received the marriage certificate, this marriage had been decided."

Chitthip smiled and looked at Diana with reluctance in her eyes. Without saying anything, she walked back to the kitchen. She saw a table full of breakfast that was not eaten and sighed.

Looks like she won't be able to get into the kitchen for the rest of her life.

"But mom, didn't you say that when you came back from Boston, you will uphold justice for me?! You said that no one else was fit to be your daughter-in-law other than me." Diana immediately walked to Chitthip, her eyes full of anxiety.

"How can you be on the outsiders' side? Jennie clearly used public opinion to be Lisa's wife! Lisa didn't even know her! Actually, he could easily divorce that woman. Lisa didn't love her! They have no feelings with each other! This marriage was destined to be doomed! Mom, you said that you would help me!"

Chitthip just stared at Diana. "Diana, mom knew that you love Lisa. You lived in the Manoban Family for the last twenty years, and throughout your life, you have long known that you are destined to marry him. Mom also knew your dream since you were young is to quickly grow up and marry him. However, marriage is not a joking matter. Since Lisa and Jen are living a good life, you should bless their life. Mom will definitely take responsibility this time and help you choose a good husband."

Diana lowered her head and suddenly smiled, tears flowing from her eyes. "So, you also know how important Lisa is to me."

"Also, concerning your father and grandfather, as long as you praise and say something good about Jennie, surely their anger will be gone. The old man loved you like his own granddaughter. His daughter-in-law whom he rarely talked to for more than twenty years, suddenly became useless. Diana, I rarely go home. When the situation calms down, only then can I enjoy my life!" Chitthip patted Diana's hand lightly. "Listen to your mother, stop crying."
