You ..."

"Kai, every man has a bottom line." Jennie looked at him with a bit of anger. "You did an injustice. It's fine if you're shameless, but you think others are as shameless as you are? This is your fault! I'm not Krystal, I'm not a 20-year-old girl, and most certainly, I'm not a silly girl who can sell herself out with just a few words from you! I've fallen into your trap once, but I won't fall for it again! I don't know which of your words are true and which is false, but I do know one thing."

Kai frowned. "What do you know?"

"You and Krystal are arrogant and conceited people." Jennie held the DV tightly, her watery eyes blinking, and a cold smile radiated from her lips. "You two are truly a match made in heaven! A perfect match!"

With that, she no longer looked at him and left.

The city construction exhibition had already begun. Jennie gathered her thoughts and began to search for news points. At the same time, she looked at Lisa, who had finished the ribbon cutting.

He only needed to show his face for a moment before he could leave. Jennie gazed at his tall and straight back from afar.

He probably didn't see her.

Even if he saw her here, what could she do?

To say that she would return to her peace meant that Lisa did not plan to interfere in her life anymore. Their relationship went back just like the beginning—a stranger.

"New phone?" When V came home from work in the evening, he suddenly glanced at Jennie's new phone.

He picked up the latest model phone and couldn't help but laugh as he waved it."Since when have you used this model? What? Your salary is so high now? Jennie, who has always been a thrifty person, would spend her money to buy such an expensive phone?"

"GD bought it for me." Jennie sat on the carpet and concentrated on finding the missing number on the sim card. She looked back at the tutorial written on the computer.

"Who? GD?" V sat beside her and asked, "Which GD?"

"How many GD do you know? He went to H City upon his return, and our company happened to be one of the companies invested by the Kwon's."

V replied with an "oh" then took her phone all of a sudden. "I like this style of phone. Don't you always like small phones? I'll buy you another one tomorrow. "

"Aiya, don't bother me. I'm looking for a number!" Jennie quickly took the phone. "Don't girls usually like this type of phone? Don't you think it's embarrassing for a man like you to use a white one?"

Seeing that Jennie treated the phone like a treasure, V's expression immediately changed. "Jennie, can't you stay away from these men? Not enough with Kai, added with Lisa and GD. I can't f*cking drive these bastards away, am I?"

"What do you mean? Why do you sound so weird?" Jennie stared at V with a confused expression.

"I have enough of it!"V suddenly stood up with an unhappy face and put on his coat.

"Where are you going?"

"The room is so stuffy; I want to take a walk!" He left by slamming the door.

Jennie's mouth twitched. What happened to this brat? She pouted her lips and lowered her head to continue playing with her phone.

After finding all the numbers, she started busy editing the video recorded today on DV. Before editing, she must go through it from beginning to end. She purposely cut Kai's video and threw it into the recycle bin; then she went to bring a packet of potato chips that V had bought for her and ate it while watching the video on the laptop.

Her earnest gaze was suddenly focused on a certain point in the video. She then pressed a pause.

Why did she record the part where Lisa left the venue? Looking at the time again, she had looked at him for that long?

Her pretty eyebrows slightly knitted together. Her hand gently grasped the mouse and cut the part quickly. As she was still somewhat absent-minded, her mind was no longer at peace.

After finishing her work, Jennie went back to her bedroom and lay in the darkness. However, she couldn't sleep. Many images flashed in her mind, including what she said to Kai when they bumped into each other at the venue.

Jennie recalled the scene of her getting to know Kai until they fell in love four years ago. Back then, their love was so pure and simple, yet it was so fragile that it couldn't even withstand a single blow.

Jennie shook her head and tried to sleep.

Wednesday morning, it was raining heavily.

"Such heavy rain. You still want to go to the exhibition center?" V asked for a leave of absence these two days and decided to accompany Jennie at home. He drove his car to the exhibition center and sighed.

"It was an order from a superior, and I did not dare to disobey." Jennie forced a smile. "It's good enough if you drive me to the north door of the exhibition center. I will probably be home late today. Don't wait for me."

"Are you going to have lunch outside?"

"Yes."

V didn't say anything more. He drove her to the exhibition center. Then, he got out of the car and handed the umbrella to her.

Jennie took the umbrella and hurried to the exhibition center.

Because she was running too fast, her shoes' heels suddenly collided with the slow-moving belt inside the door. She lost her balance, let out a cry, and threw herself onto the ground.

"Hey, miss, are you all right?" A security guard quickly went to support her. She hurriedly strengthened herself and smiled gratefully at the security guard. "It's nothing; I'm fine. Thank you so much!"

The security guard smiled bashfully and did not say anything. He turned around and walked in another direction.

Jennie looked at the direction the security guard was heading. She saw a few outstanding business elites from the other provinces walking towards the flowerbeds at the side. Every leader had security guards or female staff respectfully guarding them with umbrellas in hand.

Only Lisa, who was wearing a black windbreaker, was walking on the left with an umbrella in his hand. At the same time, he covered the female staff's head next to him with an umbrella. It was a very courteous gesture.

Jennie was looking from afar at the few figures left on the other side of the door. Her gaze was locked onto the tall and straight figure.

Everyone knew the prestige of the Manoban Family and the status of the Manobab Group in this country. Many people will sigh in awe at his appearance, but no one knew who he was.

For a moment, she felt a strange sense of pride in him.

Once again, he walked step by step, further away from her. Through the rain curtain, he might not have seen her standing near the north door at all.

Due to the heavy rain, today's exhibition was far less crowded than Monday's.

Jennie quickly went to record the atmosphere at the exhibition center and took the opportunity to interview some leaders. The number of people at the exhibition center gradually decreased during the lunch break. She heard from the host that due to the weather, the evening fair was postponed. She packed up her stuff and left.

She thought the dinner would also be canceled, but before she could return to V's place, the chief editor called her again, as if he were trying to push her to death.

9 PM, at the most famous hotel in F City, Oriental Hotel.

Jennie knew that dinner organized by Director was going to be luxurious. However, she didn't expect it to be so extravagant.
