Lisa looked at her calmly, with no emotion in his eyes. He just looked at her and asked, "Why are you here?"
"Only ten media organizations in the country have been invited to participate in this large-scale urban construction exhibition. Our company is on the guest list. The chief editor has sent me here."
Lisa nodded, then stopped looking at her. He turned his head to look at the traffic going in and out as if he had no intention of doing anything else.
The night at F City was not as enchanting as H City, but it had other features. The trees on both sides of the road were adorned with colourful lanterns, adding some traces of joy and warmth to a quiet and peaceful night.
For a moment, they had nothing more to say. Jennie moved her lips hesitantly. "In which hotel are you staying? Do you need me to send you back?"
"I have a driver." Lisa pointed with his chin at the black car parked by the road.
Jennie looked into the car's driver's seat and saw the driver seemed to have been waiting for a long time. She realized that her worries were completely unnecessary.
She smiled. "That's good. I just had a drink, so I can't drive."
Then, the two went silent again.
Jennie saw a few taxis ahead and said, "I'll go home first." She then turned and walked to the side of the road and raised her hand to stop the taxi.
The two taxis approached from a distance, passing without stopping in front of her. Then she saw a passenger in the car.
Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she saw a black car parked on the side of the road. The car door opened, and a man in his thirties with a hat walked out of the driver's seat. He had to be Lisa's driver.
Since there were so many cars on the road, Jennie had no chance to cross. She was just standing by the side of the road.
The driver spoke a few words apologetically to Lisa but also seemed to be in a hurry.
Seeing Lisa nod, the driver exhaled and bowed to him respectfully and gratefully before turning around and running swiftly to the side of the road. At this moment, a taxi sped by, and before Jennie could raise her hand to stop it, she was cut by the man in the hat, who got into the taxi and left in a cloud of dust.
Wasn't he Lisa's driver? Why did he take a taxi and leave?
Jennie looked at the car that had been driven away with a confused expression. Then with sharp eyes, she saw Lisa walking non-stop to the driver's seat. When she saw him opened the door to the driver seat, she immediately frowned.
"You can't drive!" She walked quickly to the car and knocked on the window. As the window rolled down, Jennie scolded Lisa in a harsh and low tone.
Lisa held onto the steering wheel with one hand and pressed the centre of his brows with the other. Upon hearing Jennie's words, he put down his hand that was currently massaging his eyebrows and looked at her with an unconcerned expression.
"Driving after drinking is against the law; even if you are rich and are not afraid of traffic control, you still have to think about your safety! You drank so much, and you still wanted to drive? Are you giving up your life?" She frowned and reached out to remove the key from the ignition.
Lisa didn't move, nor did he stop her when Jennie pulled out the key.
"I'll get you a taxi!" Jennie clutched the keys, straightened up, and turned to stop the taxi.
"Is my safety really that important?" Suddenly, Lisa's low, hoarse voice, filled with alcohol, was heard from behind her.
Jennie was startled and looked back at him.
Lisa slowly turned his head and looked at her. His ink-black eyes were filled with a deep sense of strangeness under the neon light.
Jennie looked at his dark gaze, and her breathing became sluggish as she calmly opened her mouth. "I just kindly advised you, because I know that you drank too much tonight."
A profound look appeared on Lisa's face as he snorted. "Is that all?"
Jennie's eyelids twitched. She turned to look at the passing car and saw several taxis without passengers passing by. In fact, she can ignore him if he wants to drive under the influence of alcohol. Why would she care if Lisa was dead or alive?
But if he was dead ...
Didn't she, Jennie, become a widow?
Immediately, she turned her gaze back to him. She directly asked, "Which hotel are you staying? I'll drive you there. There shouldn't be any traffic police here to stop us to require from taking a breath alcohol test. I'm soberer than you, so I can send you back safely."
Without waiting for an answer, she leaned over and put the key back in the car. Then she pulled the door open and reached for Lisa's arm.
However, as soon as his foot touched the ground, he stumbled a little, and Jennie hurriedly raised her hand to support him. Her whole body was pressed against the door of the car, and her waist was hit by the handle of the back door, causing her face to turn pale with pain. With a low curse, she forcefully pushed him away, and with a flip of her hand, Jennie pulled open the back door of the car and pushed him inside.
It was rare for Lisa to be so obedient. He leaned back in his seat and closed his eyes.
Jennie's face was filled with displeasure. Before turning around and entering the driver's seat, She rubbed her waist that had just been hurt from the collision.
As she started the car, she asked, "Which hotel are you staying?"
Knowing that Lisa would be attending the city construction exhibition in the next two days, Jennie unconsciously thought he would stay nearby. Without waiting for an answer, she drove the car out of the Oriental Hotel.
After so long, Lisa still did not answer. Jennie looked back in the rearview mirror and saw his eyes closed. His whole body seemed to have sunk into the leather chair behind him.
Jennie's mouth twitched, "Don't fall asleep yet! Which hotel are you staying?"
