Kai was just about to kiss her, but he froze the moment he heard that voice. In the blink of an eye, a tall figure appeared at the end of the quiet corridor and slowly walked over.

The coldness in Lisa's eyes caused the alcohol in Kai's body to lessen. He then looked towards the woman leaning against the wall. His hands trembled and became soft ...

Letting go of Jennie's red chin, Kai looked at Lisa, who was walking over in the blink of an eye. "Sorry, I drank too much. I thought she was Krystal."

Lisa's expression was unfathomable as he cast a glance at Kai. After a moment, his gaze landed on Jennie, who was leaning against the wall.

Jennie could only sneer when she heard Kai's words, but she didn't even have the strength to laugh. One of her hands was on the wall behind her, while the other one was holding onto the corner of the bathroom door to prevent her from falling down.

Kai walked away with quick steps. When he passed by Lisa, he only paused for a moment before walking away quickly.

Seeing Kai leave, Jennie heaved a sigh of relief. She let go of the hand that was supporting the wall behind her and turned around to leave.

Jennie's body had just left the wall when her legs suddenly went soft. A powerful arm caught her and pulled her into his embrace.

Jennie felt her body floating. Once her sight was clear, she then pushed Lisa away.

He grabbed her hand and pressed it down easily. In an instant, his warm palm, which was much colder than her own body, covered her forehead. Lisa suddenly frowned. "Why did your body burn like this?"

"Don't touch me ..." Jennie lowered her head in an attempt to resist him, but her waist was firmly held in his embrace.

"Don't move." Lisa's voice was no longer so gentle as if he was somewhat angry. He wrapped his arm around Jennie's waist and felt her body heat up shockingly hot. He then faintly trembled, and with a sigh, he took off his suit and placed it on her. "You're so ill yet drink a lot of wine. When did you become so willful?"

As he spoke, Lisa pulled Jennie into his arms and walked out of the quiet corridor.

How did he know she was drinking? Was it because of the alcohol on her body? Or had he actually seen her long ago?

Jennie felt an indescribable urge to cry. She felt so wronged that she wanted to cry, but she forced herself not to look at him. She was forced to return to the banquet hall by Lisa.

"Jen." Rosé suddenly walked towards her. The worry in herveyes had disappeared when she saw Liaa standing next to Jennie.

Rosé grinned at him in surprise. Seeing Lisa return her gesture with a polite smile, she was instantly overjoyed.

"My wife has been drinking too much. I'll send her back first!" As he passed Krystal and Kai, whose faces were not very nice, Lisa politely raised his eyebrows and said to them, "Jennie had a fever for the last few days, and she didn't tell me because she was afraid it would affect the progress of my job. So she secretly came to your own engagement party. Was she causing trouble for you?"

"No...No!" Krystal's arrogant attitude was still somewhat restrained when facing Lisa, but she was still not convinced. Looking at the coat on Jennie's shoulder and Lisa's actions, they all expressed his care and love for her.

Krystal gritted her teeth and turned her pleading eyes to Kai, who had no expression on his face.

Who knew that Kai only forcefully twitched the corner of his mouth and didn't say anything.

Krystal frowned, not knowing what was going on with him. She turned around and was about to say something when she saw Lisa walking out of the hall with Jennie in his arms.

"What's wrong with you?" Krystal slapped Kai's arm angrily, "Didn't you say that Lisa had no relationship with Jennie? Earlier, when Lisa came, he said that he was delayed due to his work. I guess he did not know Jennie was here. Why did they bump into each other so quickly? And it was so intimate? Why didn't you say anything just now!"

Kai didn't say anything in the end. He allowed Krystal to slap his arm a few times before he held her hand down. "Alright, that's enough! There are so many people here."

Krystal couldn't swallow her anger and stomped her feet. "I've even designed many plans that would make Jennie lose face in front of everyone, but it's all useless now!"

Just as they walked out of the banquet hall, Jennie tried to push Lisa away. "Let me go."

Lisa ignored him and led her to the parking lot. Jennie's body became extremely weak. She used both hands to push him away. "Lisa, let go of me. I don't need your sympathy! I don't want it!"

"Stop messing around!" With a low growl, Lisa pulled the loose jacket that was almost on her body again.

"I'm not making a fuss! Let go of me!" Jennie took advantage of her drunkenness and tried to pull the distance between them, "Let go of me. Don't touch me!"

"Lisa! Take back your hypocrisy! I don't want your sympathy, I don't want your pity! I don't need your compassion! I don't need it! I don't need you to help me. Let go of me... Stay away from me!"

Lisa's face remained impassive as he held her in place. He didn't say anything. He didn't even say a word as he walked towards the parking lot while holding Jennie in his arms.

"Lisa! You bastard, don't touch me!"

Jennie was unable to break free, unable to resist. Seeing Lisa's indifferent expression, as if he couldn't hear her curses, she gnashed her teeth in anger.

When they were about to reach his black Land Rover, Jennie lowered her head and bit the back of Liaa's hand that was hugging her shoulder.

Lisa paused for a moment and suddenly let go of her shoulder, but once again embraced her waist and raised his other hand to pull her coat tighter.

Lisa pulled Jennie into his embrace and placed his head close to her ear to sigh."Alright, stop tormenting yourself."

Jennie wondered if Lisa could be so patient and gentle with every woman, if he also would be so good to Diana and Shi Zheng.

Suddenly, she remembered what Lisa had said to her before.

This marriage has nothing to do with love. Don't expect too much from it ... Don't get too involved...

Why did she have so many hopes? Why would she be so upset with him?

Jennie was not a great woman like Diana and Shi Zheng. She was actually a very cowardly woman. Whenever she faced something, she preferred to flee to a place where no one could find her.

She preferred to be alone. She could choose to be quiet for a few days, she could also willfully use the effect of alcohol to curse Lisa as a bastard, and she could also burp at him in retaliation.

When Lisa saw Jennie's frowning face,he didn't know what to do. The only thing he could do was not let her go.

"Lisa, what are you pretending for? Aren't you very annoyed with me?" Jennie said with a burp.

"Hey....Hey, Lisa. Answer me. What are you pretending for?"

"I'm talking to you. Did you hear me?"

Jennie hated how Lisa couldn't be bothered to argue with her. She tugged at his shirt and said hoarsely, "Let me see if you really are a beast in disguise."
