Since Jennie had taken a leave for 5 days for the business trip to G City, she decided to spend her day leisure inside her house.

When she picked up her phone on the table, she accidentally looked at the call log. Among the missed calls, there were two missed calls from Secretary Du and Assistant Jisoo, three from Lisa, and the rest were all from V.

From the looks of it, Lisa only called her on the first day she came back, and he didn't call her again for the past two or three days.

On second thought, he wasn't the sort of man to be overly fussy. Perhaps he had guessed that she had seen — that scene, or perhaps he had never taken her seriously.

Three phone calls might have been his bottom line.

Jennie also knew that it wasn't a good idea to leave without saying goodbye. She didn't have the capital to be headstrong, she was also so weak and powerless to face all that.

To prevent herself from thinking too much, Jennie spent her time tidying up the room.. That day, she had tidied up her newly rented house and cleaned all the corners of the house that was full of dirt. She placed a rag on the cabinet and held her head. Her head felt very sore.

Jennie touched her forehead to feel the temperature and yep, it was very hot. Her head was aching so much that it felt like it was about to explode.

Jennie leaned on the couch weakly.

The engagement banquet for Kai and Krystal begins at 7:30 PM. During the day, Rosé contacted her and volunteered to accompany her to the engagement banquet that night. She wanted to see how the couple would act and wanted to watch the show.

Jennie had originally planned to go alone, but she didn't reject Rosé's generous offer.

She stood up and washed her face with cold water. Only then did she realize that her face was very pale. No wonder Rosé was so worried about her.

When Jennie arrived at the banquet, Rosé was already waiting for her outside the door.

Rosé walked up to Jennie eagerly and took her arm. After looking at her carefully, she said with a smile, "Jen, you usually don't dress up, but this dress really makes me want to bite you. What should I do if a man tries to seduce you?"

As she spoke, Rosé tried to bite her face. Jennie slapped her head. "What are you trying to do? Don't lie."

"What I said was the truth. Jen, you look really good! You're the kind of beauty that's particularly attractive. The more I look at you, the more beautiful you'll be. Let me bite you."

Jennie was not used to being praised like this. She only smiled and held Rosé's hand as they walked into the hotel that the Jung Family had booked.

As soon as they entered the huge engagement banquet hall, everyone's eyes fell on Jennie. Most of the business managers from the largest company in H City attended the event, and more than half of them knew her identity.

Almost everyone's eyes were fixated on the figure that was slowly approaching. Those who knew and those who didn't know the inside story all had different looks in their eyes.

Jennie was wearing a moon-white dress with a short piece of rabbit fur draped over her shoulders. Her long hair was tied up high in a bamboo hairpin that gave off a strong national feeling, revealing her slender white neck. Even though she was wearing conservative clothes, she still looks very elegant and beautiful.

Jennie rarely dressed up. For her, it was better to spend 20 minutes sleeping rather than dressed up. But today, she would definitely not allow herself to be too slovenly in front of everyone.

Jennie knew that she wasn't the main character tonight, so she didn't say much and ignored everyone's gaze. She just pulled Rosé to a less crowded area and sat there. While waiting for the elders of Kai's clan to enter the stage, she chatted with Rosé.

Suddenly, she caught a glimpse of Lisa's name written on the VIP seat in front of her.

Would he attend the engagement banquet between Kai and Krystal?

The large banquet hall was filled with a variety of food and wine. The crystal light in the center of the hall shone like glass.

When Kai and Krystal walked down the stairs, rose petals were sprayed out of the flower racks on either side of the red carpet.

"Thank you everyone, for coming to our engagement banquet." Krystal was like a proud and blissful princess. She was originally young and beautiful, and the fiery red skirting dress made her look as tender and beautiful as a peony that had just bloomed.

Kai held hands with her as they walked slowly into the crowd.

On the other side, Krystal's father, Chairman Jung, was giving a congratulatory speech. The company's leaders were also standing at the sides with smiles on their faces.

Jennie stood at the end of the crowd, looking at the couple walking in the rain of flowers.

When she was in university, she had thought that she would marry Kai. She had thought that her love would not fall apart as it did in those dramas and TV novels, and it will all end well. However, she never thought that one day her pure feelings would crumble.

Jennie didn't understand. What was her mistake? Why did she have to be the loser of this love affair?

"Don't be shy everyone. This engagement party is an informal ceremony, unlike the wedding ceremony. Assume today the Jung Family held a big party for everyone. You can do whatever you want~~"

Jennie felt her dizziness getting worse as the sounds of laughter continued to echo in the air. She didn't see Lisa at all from the people sitting in the VIP seats.

Jennie lowered her eyes and followed Rosé to a table full of food.

"Jen, this cake is so sweet, taste it ~ ~" Rosé placed a piece of cream cake into a disposable paper plate and happily offered it to Jennie.

Jennie smiled faintly and did not accept it. She weakly leaned against the high flower rack next to her and patiently waited for the banquet to end.

"Miss Kim, I did not expect you would come. Let me toast you ~" Suddenly, Krystal's voice drifted from behind her.

Jennie turned her head and saw the glass in Krystal's hand was filled with champagne. She looked at Jennie with a smile, and the pride and the arrogance in her eyes were still as obvious as before.

Just as Rosé was about to step forward and block Krystal from coming closer, Jennie gently pushed her aside.

With a faint and provocative smile in her eyes, Jennie took a glass of wine beside her and glanced at the wine in it. Then, she gave a faint smile, "Miss Jung is too courteous. Congratulations on your engagement."

After she finished speaking, Jennie quickly finished the wine in one gulp.
