"Oh, maybe it was because President was on the plane when you called him."

"He's on a business trip?"

"Yes, recently there have been some important meetings and projects in some big cities in Beijing that require President's presence. He also needs to attend some large-scale city construction exhibitions. He will not be able to return to H City until next month. As for the matter of the alleyway at the end of the Qing Dynasty, since President didn't tell you about it, then there might be a reason for that, so it's not convenient for me to reveal it to you, Miss Kim."

Jennie frowned, but she understood Secretary Du. As a CEO secretary, he had to follow instructions from the big boss, so she didn't make it difficult. She said, "I understand your difficulties, so tell me, will the road be demolished?"

Secretary Du hesitated for a moment and then said, "That will not happen in the near future. The CEO is trying his best to salvage the situation but this matter has been intervened by some parties, causing the situation to be more complicated. There are many implications I can not guarantee anything, but it will not happen in the short term."

"How many parties are interfering? Which party?"

"Miss Kim, I'm sorry, but I can't say more."

"Oh, sorry ..."

"It's fine. Is there anything else?"

"No, I'm sorry for bothering you, Secretary Du. Thank you."

"You're welcome. Goodbye."

Jennie put down her phone and sighed. She then returned to her office.

"Jen, how is it? Can the houses on the street be left alone?" Rosé hurriedly approached her.

"Right now, there isn't much that can be done, but since the murder case had already happened, tell your parents to get out first." Jennie sighed. "I don't know what's going on here. Don't worry, I will do my best to help you."

"Alright, I'm just hoping for an opportunity. If it doesn't work out, don't bother yourself to help me. My parents have packed their things and will move out in the next two days."

Jennie nodded and didn't say anything else. She returned to her desk and resumed her work.

The next morning, she was suddenly called to the mailroom on the first floor of the company, saying that there was a delivery from her.

Jennie was confused. She hadn't bought anything online recently, how could there be a package for her? When she went down to get it, she saw a small box. She picked it up and opened it after returning to her office.

The box contained the latest version of an Iphone.

She picked up the phone and looked at it suspiciously. The battery was fully charged, and it was obvious it was not shipped immediately after purchase. She looked through it until she saw the only name in the phone book, GD.

Jennie sighed and immediately called that number.

"Hmm? Finally, you know the first person you should call is me." GD's voice sounded full of pride.

"What do you mean? Who asked you to send me a cell phone? My phone is not completely broken, I asked someone to fix it last night."

"Fix what? I just bought you a new phone. Use it. You don't owe me anything in exchange for a new phone. Why is your tone so harsh?"

"GD, I told you that I don't want to have anything to do with you. Where are you now? I will send the phone back to you after work!" She frowned.

"Jennie, you deliberately make my life difficult, don't you?"
