The mood in Class 1-A is tense as Denki, Eijiro, Rikido, and Mina all sit in their seats, crestfallen over failing the practical test. I can’t help but feel bad for them—especially Mina, who’s usually so upbeat and confident.
“They can’t keep us from the forest lodge, right?” Mina asks, her voice filled with nervous laughter.
Aizawa-Sensei walks in, arms crossed, his usual stoic expression plastered on his face. The room falls silent as he glances around, taking in the group of downcast students.
“You should all know by now that the consequences of failure here at U.A. are never so simple,” Aizawa-Sensei begins, his tone serious but with a slight edge that hints at something else. I can’t help but sit up straighter, curiosity bubbling inside me.
“The forest lodge trip is a boot camp,” he continues, his eyes sweeping over the class. “And those of you who failed the practical test will be receiving extra, harsher training during the trip.”
There’s a collective sigh of relief as the failed students finally relax. I glance at Mina, who slumps back into her chair with a dramatic groan, clutching her chest like she just avoided a death sentence.
“Thank goodness,” she mumbles.
Denki grins, nudging Eijiro. “Looks like we’re going to the lodge after all.”
Aizawa-Sensei hands out a lodge guide to each of us, explaining what we’ll need to bring. I flip through the pages, already noting items I don’t have. There’s quite a bit on this list. Toru raises her hand, suggesting we all go shopping together to get what we need.
The next day, most of Class 1-A (minus Katsuki and Todoroki, who are notably absent) heads to the Kiyashi Ward Shopping Mall. The mall is massive—shops lining every corridor, and the place is packed with people. We all decide to split up, and I find myself walking beside Momo and Jiro, enjoying the rare chance to hang out outside of school.
As we wander through the mall, I overhear Ochaco and Izuku talking about what they need to buy. I can’t help but smile as I catch Ochaco’s blushing face. She’s been acting so strange around Izuku lately, and it doesn’t take a genius to figure out why.
“Heavy wrist weights, huh? That sounds intense,” I hear her say, her voice wavering. But before Izuku can reply, Ochaco abruptly runs off, her face flushed bright red.
I stifle a laugh, exchanging a glance with Momo. “She really likes him, doesn’t she?”
Momo smiles softly. “It seems that way.”
As we continue our shopping, picking up supplies and chatting, a strange feeling starts to settle over me—like something is off. I glance around, scanning the crowd, but nothing seems out of the ordinary. Just a bustling mall filled with people.
Suddenly, I spot Izuku standing near a bench, talking to someone. My stomach drops when I recognize who he’s talking to—Tomura Shigaraki, the leader of the League of Villains.
I freeze. My mind races. How is he here? What is he doing? My body tenses, and for a split second, I consider rushing over, but I stop myself. What’s happening? Why isn’t Izuku running?
Izuku’s face is calm, but there’s a tension in his eyes that tells me everything I need to know—he’s scared, but he’s holding his ground.
I can’t hear what they’re saying from where I’m standing, but I can see the way Shigarakis hand hovers dangerously close to Izuku’s neck, just like back at U.S.J. My breath catches in my throat, fear clawing at my chest.
Suddenly, Ochaco appears, clearly confused by the situation. “Izuku? Who is that?” she asks, her voice tinged with concern.
Izuku’s eyes widen, and he tries to wave her away, but Shigaraki lets go of him, stepping back with a strange, almost casual smile on his face. “Don’t worry,” Shigaraki says, his voice dripping with menace. “I was just having a little chat.”
He turns to leave, but not before throwing one last chilling glance over his shoulder. “Next time we meet, I’ll kill you,” he says simply, before disappearing into the crowd.
For a moment, everything feels frozen. Then, Izuku and Ochaco look at each other, the weight of what just happened settling between them.
Ochaco quickly calls the police, and we gather around Izuku, my heart still pounding in my chest.
“What did he want?” I ask, my voice barely steady.
Izuku looks down, his face pale. “He was… just asking questions. About Stain, about All Might…” His voice trails off, and I can see the fear still lingering in his eyes.
I don’t know what to say. None of us do. The encounter with Shigaraki has left a dark cloud over the rest of the day, and as we leave the mall, there’s an unspoken agreement between us all—we need to be stronger. If Shigaraki is still out there, planning something, we have to be ready for whatever comes next.
