The classroom buzzed with energy as we settled into our seats, but today, the air felt different—charged with excitement. Aizawa-sensei stood at the front of the room, his usual bored expression etched on his face. But as soon as he mentioned the word festival, everyone was instantly on high alert.

“As second years, you’ll be participating in this year’s U.A. Festival,” he said, barely glancing up from his clipboard.

“YES!” Kirishima shot up from his chair, pumping his fist into the air. “Let’s go! We totally owned it last year, but this time, we’ll blow them all away!”

Mina was already bouncing in her seat. “Oooh! We’ve gotta do something fun and cute this time! No more just music or boring hero stuff—let’s go all out!”

“Calm down,” Bakugo muttered, leaning back in his chair. “It’s just another stupid festival. We’ve got better things to focus on.”

“That’s not the point, Bakugo!” Kaminari grinned, clearly excited. “This is about showing everyone how creative and cool we are outside of hero work!”

As everyone started tossing out ideas, I found myself shrinking back a little, unsure of what role I’d want to play in all this. Last year, the festival had been a blast, but this year… with everything that had changed between me and Aizawa… it felt more complicated.

“Maybe we could do a performance again,” suggested Jirou, scribbling down some notes. “But we could make it bigger and more interactive. Maybe include some quirk displays?”

Mina perked up. “I’ve got it! Why don’t we do a Neko Maid Café! It’ll be super cute, and everyone loves maids—and neko! We can serve food, dress up, and totally make it fun for everyone who visits!”

The room went silent for a moment as everyone processed the idea. Then, chaos erupted.

“A Neko Maid Café?!” Kaminari nearly shouted, eyes wide with excitement. “I’m so in!”

Kirishima blinked, then grinned. “That sounds kinda manly in its own way… right?”

Sero leaned back in his chair, giving Mina a thumbs-up. “I like it. It’ll be a big hit.”

Even Todoroki nodded. “It sounds like it would attract a lot of attention.”

My heart skipped a beat. A maid café? With cat ears? That wasn’t exactly what I had expected for the festival… but seeing the excitement on everyone’s faces, it was clear the idea had already won them over.

Aizawa-sensei, however, didn’t look as thrilled. His brow furrowed as he scanned the room. “You’re going to run a maid café?”

“Not just any maid café!” Mina said enthusiastically, waving her hands around. “A Neko Maid Café! It’ll be adorable and fun, and we’ll all get to dress up and serve guests. Plus, it’s super popular at festivals like this!”

Aizawa sighed. “Just… don’t go overboard.”

But the class was already buzzing with excitement. Mina was practically glowing as she started discussing decorations, costumes, and menus. I tried to stay focused on the conversation, but my mind kept wandering. A maid outfit? Really? And with Aizawa-sensei watching…?

I stole a glance at him, catching his eyes for just a second before looking away, my face heating up. There’s no way this is going to end well for me.

Later that Day

The discussion carried on into the afternoon, with Mina taking charge of all things Neko Maid Café. The group gathered in the dorm common area, already throwing out ideas for cat ears, aprons, and how to design the perfect maid uniforms.

“We’ll need super cute aprons and maid dresses,” Mina said, jotting down notes. “And of course, everyone has to wear cat ears. It’s the whole theme!”

Kaminari grinned. “Can I get a cat tail too?”

“Absolutely!” Mina beamed, sketching out potential designs. “And we’ll serve cute food shaped like paw prints and little cakes with cat faces!”

Jirou raised an eyebrow. “Isn’t this going to be a little… over the top?”

“No way!” Mina shot back. “It’s perfect! Besides, we’ve got to make a statement, and nothing says ‘statement’ like a café full of adorable maids and cat ears!”

As the excitement bubbled over, I could only think about how awkward this was going to be. The thought of wearing a maid outfit with cat ears in front of Aizawa was enough to make my face burn.

“Hey, you okay?” Momo asked quietly, nudging me out of my thoughts.

I blinked, forcing a smile. “Yeah, just… thinking.”

She studied me for a moment, her expression softening. “Don’t worry, whatever we decide, I’m sure you’ll look great.”

Her words were kind, but they only reminded me of how much more complicated things had gotten. As the festival drew closer, so would the challenge of keeping our secret.

And if Aizawa sees me in that outfit? I don’t even want to imagine his reaction.
