Mailin’s POV:
The common room is a whirlwind of activity, with everyone in Class 2-A buzzing around, moving furniture, setting up blankets, and laughing loudly. There’s an electric excitement in the air—tonight’s our sleepover. Even Shinsou is joining us, which has everyone even more hyped.
Mina’s already darting around, bossing everyone about where to set up the snack table, while Kaminari and Kirishima are stacking a precarious tower of board games in the corner. Midoriya’s trying to arrange the pillows in neat piles, but it’s a losing battle with Kaminari constantly messing them up.
I’m folding blankets when I feel someone sidle up next to me. I don’t need to look to know it’s Mina.
“So…Mailin,” she begins, her voice already dripping with mischief. “Tell me… how exactly do you handle living life with Mr. Stoic, hmm?”
I blink, confused for a second, before the realization hits me. “Aizawa-Sensei?” I ask, raising an eyebrow at her.
Mina grins widely. “Of course! You know… Mr. ‘I Sleep in a Cocoon’ Aizawa.”
I can feel the heat rise in my cheeks, but I try to play it cool. “He’s not that serious all the time,” I mutter, adjusting the blanket a little too carefully.
Kaminari, overhearing, swoops in with a wide grin, waggling his eyebrows in my direction. “Oh yeah? I mean, you must know him better than any of us by now, right?”
Kirishima joins in, leaning over the back of the couch with a teasing smirk. “Do you, like, have to schedule dates around his naps? Or does he just drop his sleeping bag in random places during your dates?”
The group bursts into laughter, and I’m trying hard not to let my face turn as red as a tomato. “It’s not like that!” I protest, but my voice is drowned out by the teasing.
Mina’s not letting up, though. “Oh come on, Mailin! You’ve gotta give us something!” She leans closer, eyes sparkling with curiosity. “Does he ever let that serious mask slip when you’re alone? You know... maybe a little smile or something?”
My face feels like it’s on fire now, but I can’t help but laugh at the absurdity. “Fine, fine!” I say, holding up my hands in defeat. “He’s… different when we’re alone. Okay?”
Kaminari grins like he’s won something. “Oooh! Different how? Does Sensei have a soft side?”
I roll my eyes but can’t stop the smile tugging at my lips. “You’ll just have to keep wondering.”
The teasing continues, but there’s nothing mean-spirited about it. It’s light and fun, just like the atmosphere of the sleepover. Even Shinsou, who’s been standing off to the side, smirks slightly at the banter.
Later that Evening:
Once we’ve finished setting up the room, Kaminari pulls out a bag of chips and gestures for the rest of us to gather in the corner. It’s time for the secret meeting of the Pining Over Our Boyfriends Club.
I slide down next to Kirishima on one of the massive pillows, while Kaminari and Midoriya settle in across from us. We huddle close, like we’re planning some grand scheme, though really… we’re just here to gush about our boyfriends.
“Okay, okay,” Kaminari begins, rubbing his hands together. “Who’s going first?”
Midoriya blushes furiously, his cheeks already turning pink before he even speaks. “U-Uhm... I guess I can go…” he stammers, glancing nervously at the others. “Todoroki is… he’s just…” He fumbles for words, his blush deepening. “He’s so calm. And when he looks at me with those… eyes…”
Kirishima nods enthusiastically, grinning. “Man, Todoroki’s got that intense vibe going. I get it, Midoriya, I get it.”
Midoriya continues, his voice soft. “And he’s so protective. Even when he doesn’t say much, I can feel how much he cares.”
Kaminari chuckles. “I knew it! Todoroki’s got that silent, brooding thing going, huh?”
Next, it’s Kirishima’s turn, and he can’t contain his excitement. “Bakugou may be a total hothead,” he begins with a grin, “but damn is he strong. And I don’t just mean his Quirk, either. The guy’s got muscles for days. Have you ever seen him shirtless?”
Kaminari rolls his eyes. “Yes, we’ve all seen him shirtless, thank you, Kirishima.”
Kirishima, undeterred, continues. “And yeah, he’s loud and kinda mean, but deep down? He’s so manly. Like when he gets serious during training… whoo boy.”
Kaminari throws a pillow at him, laughing. “I swear, Kirishima, you’ve got it bad for that guy.”
Now it’s Kaminari’s turn, and he flashes us all a devilish grin. “Shinsou? He’s got this voice, man. Like… have you ever heard him just say anything? It’s so smooth and deep, it drives me crazy.”
I can’t help but chuckle, seeing the dreamy look on Kaminari’s face. “And don’t even get me started on how good he looks in his hero gear. That smirk he does when he knows he’s won? Kills me every time.”
I laugh, nodding along. “He does have a way with words.”
Finally, the others turn to me. “Alright, Mailin,” Kaminari says, leaning in with a conspiratorial grin. “Your turn. What’s it like dating Mr. Cool and Mysterious?”
I blush, but I can’t help the smile that spreads across my face as I think about Shota. “He’s... a lot softer than people think. Like, sure, he’s all serious and no-nonsense in front of everyone, but when we’re alone...” I trail off, remembering the quiet moments we share. “He’s protective. Always making sure I’m okay, even when he’s exhausted from work.”
Kaminari raises an eyebrow. “So, he’s like... secretly a big softie?”
I grin. “You could say that. And... okay, this might sound silly, but he’s really good at making tea. Like, the best tea I’ve ever had.”
Kirishima laughs, shaking his head. “Leave it to Aizawa to be a tea expert.”
“But also... he’s hot. I mean, have you seen him fight?” I add, blushing deeper. “The way he moves, it’s just…”
The others nod in agreement, and we all burst into laughter.
Later that Night:
The teasing and fangirling continue late into the night, but eventually, everyone starts to wind down. The class pulls out sleeping bags and blankets, setting up their spots in the common room. The movie we had playing in the background is barely audible now as we all settle in for the night.
I lay down, staring at the ceiling, still smiling from all the fun we had. It feels good to just relax and laugh with everyone—no worries, no secrets.
From across the room, I hear Kirishima mumble sleepily, “Bakugou’s still the manliest…”
I roll my eyes with a grin, but my heart feels light. These are the moments that make all the stress worth it. The teasing, the camaraderie, the friendships—this is what Class 2-A is all about.
As I close my eyes, I can’t help but feel grateful. For my friends. For Shota. For all of it.
