It’s mid-August, and the scorching summer heat is relentless as Class 1-A arrives at Heights Alliance—their new dormitories. The building looms ahead of us, sleek and modern, and while it’s impressive, the weight of everything that’s happened over the past weeks makes the excitement feel bittersweet. The once-bustling Class 1-A is quieter, more subdued, as we approach the building.
Aizawa-Sensei steps forward, as stoic as ever, but I notice the subtle tension in his shoulders. “Before I explain about your new dormitories,” he begins, his voice calm but firm, “I need to address something.”
We all pause, eyes on him, knowing what’s coming. The guilt already starts to gnaw at me.
“At the training camp, you were supposed to get your Provisional Hero Licenses, but due to the League of Villains’ attack, that didn’t happen. Some of you, however, decided to act as if you already had them.” His gaze sweeps across us, landing on Todoroki, Kirishima, Midoriya, Yaoyorozu, and Iida. “You took it upon yourselves to rescue Bakugou.”
The rest of the class murmurs in surprise. I try to ignore the tightening knot in my stomach.
Aizawa-Sensei continues, his tone heavier. “I know the rest of you, aside from Bakugou, Hagakure, and Jiro, knew about their plan. Your actions have been covered up, but if All Might hadn’t retired, I would have expelled all of you—except those three—as punishment.”
There’s a sharp intake of breath from the class. The weight of his words hits hard. Expelled. I can’t even imagine it. But deep down, I know he’s right. What we did was reckless.
Aizawa-Sensei’s voice softens just a fraction. “Going forward, I expect you to follow proper procedures. We need to rebuild trust.”
The atmosphere is tense, the mood bleak. I glance at Kirishima, who looks down, guilt clear on his face. But before I can dwell on it, Bakugou breaks the silence.
“Oi, Denki!” Bakugou suddenly grabs Kaminari and forces him to use his Quirk. Denki’s face goes blank, his usual derpy expression surfacing, and the tension in the air cracks. A few snickers break out, then full-blown laughter. The mood shifts, easing as Kaminari’s antics lighten the atmosphere.
Bakugou tosses Kirishima some money. “Here. For that night vision scope.”
Kirishima looks surprised but quickly grins, rubbing the back of his head. “Thanks, man. Sorry for dragging everyone into it… I’ll make it up by treating everyone to a barbecue sometime.”
With the tension now dissipated, Aizawa-Sensei gestures to the dorm building. “Now, about your new accommodations.”
He leads us inside, explaining the layout as we follow. The right wing for the girls, the left wing for the boys. Each student has their own room on the second through fifth floors. My mind is still spinning from everything, but I try to focus on the tour.
“And,” he finishes, “you’ll spend the rest of the day unpacking. Tomorrow, I’ll explain how things will work from now on.”
As he walks away, I can’t help but steal a glance at him. His posture is as relaxed as ever, but I know him well enough now to see that even Aizawa-Sensei has been affected by everything that’s happened. His calm exterior hides it well, but it’s there. And maybe… just maybe, I’m part of the reason for his unease.

Later That Evening
The common area on the first floor is bustling with activity. The boys are lounging around, laughing and talking, when Mina suddenly bursts in with the other girls. “Hey, I’ve got an idea!” she announces, her eyes glinting with excitement. “Let’s do a room showcase competition!”
Denki, always up for fun, grins. “Oh yeah? Who’s got the best room?”
The excitement builds, and before long, we’re traipsing up the stairs to check out the boys’ rooms. Midoriya’s room is, unsurprisingly, filled with All Might memorabilia, and Fumikage’s is shrouded in eerie darkness. By the time we get through the boys’ rooms, Mina decides it’s time to evaluate the girls’.
“Let’s start with Hoshino’s room!” Mina suggests brightly, dragging the whole group toward my room.
My heart skips a beat. I knew this was coming, but I wasn’t sure if I was ready for it.
When they open the door, my room is revealed—a soft, serene space with elegant, light tones. Rosé-colored curtains frame the window, letting in just enough light to give the room a warm, golden glow. On the wall, a few framed photos hang—one of me with my family, another of me with Momo, and a final one of the Yaoyorozu Squad. My bedspread is a soft, pale gold, neatly made with a plush pink throw draped over the edge. A small bookshelf sits in the corner, filled with books and a few decorative items—like the delicate star-shaped lamp I picked out months ago.
The girls are quick to comment.
“This is so peaceful!” Ochaco gushes, admiring the setup.
“Elegant,” Momo adds, clearly approving.
I blush under their praise, unsure of how to respond. But seeing their smiles makes me feel a bit more at ease.

Aizawa’s POV
After leaving the students to their competition, I return to my quarters, but my mind keeps wandering back to Mailin. I hadn’t been able to shake the tightness in my chest since we rescued her. She’d been so strong, so resilient during the whole ordeal, but I couldn’t help feeling like I’d failed her somehow.
And now, seeing her among her classmates, trying to settle back into something resembling normalcy… I’m relieved, but also on edge. Something’s shifted. I just need to make sure it doesn’t cross any lines.
