Mailin’s POV

The break feels like it goes by too quickly, and before I know it, the arena is repaired, and the next match is about to begin. Team Ida and Team Tetsutetsu take their places on the screen, and I find myself focusing on their movements, analyzing every step.

Shoto, Tenya, Mashirao, and Mezo—they’re all strong in their own right. But Class 1-B isn’t going to make it easy. Tetsutetsu, Juzo, Sen, and Pony are more than capable of holding their own, and I know this is going to be another intense match.

As Shoto takes his place, Fumikage stops him, telling him that the responsibility of representing the No. 1 and No. 2 Heroes—Endeavor and Hawks—now falls on him. The words hit hard. I can see it in Shoto’s face. He’s carrying the weight of not just his power, but his past.

I glance at the screen, watching his expression change. It’s almost like he’s somewhere else—remembering something painful. I can only imagine what’s going through his head, especially when it comes to Endeavor.

Just then, Tenya steps in, his usual energy and positivity bringing Shoto back to the present. I can’t help but smile at Tenya’s infectious enthusiasm, especially when he talks about his brother’s recovery. It’s clear he’s driven by his determination to live up to his family name.

“He’s so passionate,” I murmur, watching Tenya. Ochaco nods in agreement.

“Tenya’s always been like that. He really cares about upholding his family’s legacy,” she says softly, her eyes on the screen as well.

Round 3 Battle

The match starts, and almost immediately, Shoto freezes the ground. It’s a brilliant move, trying to limit Juzo’s Softening Quirk. But Team 1-B isn’t about to go down without a fight. Juzo softens the ice, catching Mashirao and forcing him to stumble. The screen shows Sen rushing in with his Gyrate Quirk, spiraling forward to engage him in close combat.

“Tetsutetsu’s team is already on the offensive,” I say to myself, watching as the match intensifies. Pony uses her Horn Cannon Quirk to attack Mezo and Shoto, and I can tell they’re struggling to keep up. Her horns are quick and precise, pushing Mezo away while giving Tetsutetsu a clear shot at Shoto.

With their combined Horn Dash Hammer, Tetsutetsu smashes through Shoto’s ice barrier and knocks him through a pipe. I wince as Shoto hits the ground hard, but I know he’s not out yet.

“This is getting tough for them,” Mina comments, leaning forward in her seat.

---

On the screen, Tenya takes center stage. He unveils a new move—Recipro Turbo. My eyes widen as he shoots forward with incredible speed, breaking free from Juzo’s softened ice. He’s so fast that even Juzo can barely defend himself, forcing him to retreat by liquefying the ground.

“Wow, he’s faster than ever,” Midoriya says, eyes wide. “That’s like… faster than Gran Torino!”

I nod, impressed by Tenya’s progress. It’s not just his speed—it’s his control, his determination to carry the Ida name forward. He’s doing everything he can to prove himself in this match.

---

But even as Tenya breaks free, the battle rages on. Shoto struggles against Tetsutetsu, his ice proving useless. I watch as he switches tactics, unleashing his Wall of Flames to try and push Tetsutetsu back. The fire forces Pony and her horns to retreat, giving Mezo some breathing room, but Tetsutetsu keeps pushing forward, his steel body glowing red-hot from the heat.

“He’s so determined,” I say, almost in awe of Tetsutetsu’s resilience. Shoto’s flames are intense, on par with Endeavor’s, but even then, Tetsutetsu keeps coming, yelling that they have to go beyond their limits in training.

Shoto is pushed to his limits too, recalling Endeavor’s words about surpassing himself. His fire roars even hotter, and for a moment, it looks like he might finally overwhelm Tetsutetsu. But then Juzo steps in, using his Softening Quirk to knock Shoto out with debris.

---

Tenya rushes in to save Shoto, kicking Juzo so hard that his mask breaks. But Juzo doesn’t go down without a fight. With one last effort, he softens a massive pipe and yells at Tetsutetsu to push it. The camera zooms in as Tenya, carrying Shoto, tries to escape, but the pipe crashes down on him, trapping him and leaving him struggling to break free.

The tension in the room is palpable as the match comes to its final moments. Pony catches up, grabbing her teammates and Shoto, trying to secure the win. But Mezo chases her down, refusing to give up. In the end, Pony makes the smart decision—she rises to a height where Mezo can’t reach her, waiting out the clock.

I let out a long breath as the match is announced a draw. 1-1. Neither side has truly won.

“That was so close,” Ochaco says, sounding relieved but also disappointed. “Tenya almost had it…”

“I know,” I reply, feeling the same frustration. Team Ida fought hard, but Class 1-B was relentless. Tetsutetsu, Juzo, and Pony pushed them to their limits.

Round 3 Aftermath

As the match ends, Shoto, Tenya, Mashirao, Tetsutetsu, and Juzo are taken to Recovery Girl’s office. The rest of us sit in silence, watching as Vlad King comments on the battle. He praises Sen as the MVP for his ability to slow down Tenya and halt his progress. Meanwhile, Denki complains about Pony’s strategy to force a tie, but Jurota defends her decision, saying that in a real-life situation, waiting for backup is a valid strategy.

“He’s right,” I say. “Sometimes retreating is the best option.”

Ochaco sighs, glancing over at Izuku, who’s furiously updating his hero notebook. “Tenya must be so frustrated,” she says quietly.

But Izuku looks up from his notes and smiles. “He did great, though. He pushed himself and showed just how much he’s improved.”

I nod in agreement. “He really has.”

The screen fades as the teachers announce another break, and we’re left reflecting on the intensity of the battle we just witnessed. Team Ida and Team Tetsutetsu fought hard, and while neither side claimed victory, they both showed just how much they’ve grown.
