As November draws to a close, the dorm feels unusually tense. Midoriya, Ochaco, Tsuyu, Kirishima, Aizawa-Sensei, and I gather in the common room with Eri, who sits quietly by Nejire’s side. Her large eyes flicker between all of us, curiosity shining in them as she clutches her hands in her lap. Despite the horrors she’s endured, a fragile innocence still clings to her.
Eri’s soft voice pulls me from my thoughts. “Where are we going now?”
Aizawa-Sensei leans down beside her. “You’re going to stay at U.A. from now on, Eri,” he says gently, and his words make my heart swell. I exchange a glance with Aizawa-Sensei, who gives me a brief, almost imperceptible nod.
“We’ll be with you,” I add, smiling at her. “You’re safe here.”
Eri’s eyes dart between Aizawa and me. The two of us, together with her, it feels… right. Like we’re slowly becoming something more, a family. There’s a warmth growing in my chest—a feeling I hadn’t expected when I first joined U.A. We were no longer just heroes-in-training and teacher. With Eri here, we were becoming something different, something more important.
As the others step outside to explain the situation to the rest of the class, Aizawa-Sensei remains close, watching over Eri like a hawk. He’s been extra protective since her rescue, especially with her quirk returning slowly as her horn grows back. I watch him carefully—his eyes constantly scanning, his body tense with the weight of responsibility.
A while later, Mirio explains more about Eri’s quirk, gesturing to her horn. “It’s tied directly to her Rewind Quirk,” he says. “It’s slowly gaining power again. That’s another reason she’s coming to U.A. She needs to be closely monitored.”
Aizawa-Sensei’s eyes narrow, his usual calm demeanor tinged with concern. "I’ll be keeping an eye on her in the teacher’s lounge, and she’ll stay close to me at all times."
I can see the heaviness in his gaze. This isn’t just another student; this is someone we both care deeply for, someone we can’t afford to lose again. The weight of it sits in my chest too, an unspoken promise that I’ll do everything I can to keep her safe.
Later, when the conversation shifts, Tamaki gives a small spark of hope that one day, when Eri gains control over her quirk, she could even help Mirio get his quirk back. The idea sparks a wave of optimism in the room, and for the first time, I see a hint of a smile from Aizawa-Sensei.
“I’ll do my best,” Eri says quietly, her voice barely audible. Her eyes are filled with determination, despite her youth and fragility. I reach out and gently take her hand, giving it a reassuring squeeze.
"You’ve already come so far, Eri," I say softly. "You’re stronger than you think."
Aizawa-Sensei gives the third-years a nod, asking them to look after her, and then he turns to Midoriya and the others. "You all should head back to your rooms. You’ve got visitors soon."

Later at Heights Alliance
The dormitory is buzzing with activity as everyone chats excitedly. I sit on the couch, listening to the murmurs around me, my mind still on Eri and how things will change now that she’s part of our daily life. A family. Could that be possible?
Tokoyami suddenly sneezes, breaking the conversation. Kaminari teases him, "Guess someone’s talking about you, Tokoyami. Maybe a fan?"
Ochaco laughs. "You did intern with Hawks, the Number 2 Hero. You probably have more fans than you realize."
Fumikage brushes it off with a wave of his hand. "It’s far too early for fans."
Before anyone can continue the teasing, there’s a knock at the door, and Aizawa-Sensei steps inside with a familiar group following behind him. The Wild, Wild Pussycats have arrived, bringing with them cat paw buns and plenty of energy.
The room erupts in greetings and excitement, especially when Tiger approaches Bakugo and me with a sheepish look on his face. "Sorry we couldn’t protect you during the Quirk Training Camp," he says, scratching the back of his head.
I exchange a glance with Bakugo, and we both shake our heads. “Don’t worry about it,” Bakugo grumbles, crossing his arms and looking away, though his tone lacks its usual edge. I nod in agreement.
Midoriya is especially excited to see Kota again, practically bouncing in place as he shakes the young boy’s hand. "I’ve kept your letter safe all this time!" Midoriya beams, his enthusiasm almost overwhelming.
Kota blushes, embarrassed by all the attention, especially when Mandalay points out that he’s even wearing red shoes just like Midoriya’s. It’s a heartwarming moment, watching the connection they’ve built.
As everyone settles down with tea and cat paw buns, Sato asks the Pussycats why they’ve decided to visit now. Pixie-Bob’s eyes light up. “We’re coming back after our long hiatus.”
Midoriya blinks in surprise. "I thought Ragdoll was still on break after… what happened with All For One?"
Ragdoll smiles brightly. "I’ll be supporting the Pussycats in other ways, don’t you worry!"
The conversation shifts to the upcoming Hero Billboard Chart JP broadcast, and everyone leans in, eager to hear about the new rankings. We all gather around the television as the top ten heroes are announced. Ryukyu drops to Number 10, followed by Yoroi Musha at 9 and Wash at 8. The excitement builds as Kamui Woods ranks at 7, causing a few cheers to go up from the group.
Mt. Lady grumbles in frustration at her 23rd rank, muttering something about needing to step up her game.
When the top 5 are revealed, Mirko comes in at 5, her bold and confident remarks about taking down villains bringing a smirk to my face. The room is buzzing with excitement until Hawks, the Number 2 Hero, interrupts with his usual nonchalance. He makes some bold claims, hinting at the need for change now that All Might is gone.
And then, Endeavor’s turn. His statement is simple, but powerful: "Just watch me."

As the announcement ends, the room is buzzing with energy. Everyone is talking at once, excited about the rankings and the implications for the hero world. But my mind drifts back to Aizawa-Sensei and Eri. The thrill of the rankings fades into the background as I slip away from the conversation, heading toward the teacher’s lounge where I know Aizawa-Sensei will be with her.
When I arrive, Eri is sitting beside Aizawa, looking more relaxed than before. I catch Aizawa’s eye, and he gives me a small nod, a silent acknowledgment that things are slowly starting to fall into place.
I sit down beside them, feeling the quiet comfort of the moment. Being here with them, in this small, peaceful space—it feels like home. Not the kind of home I had growing up, but something new, something made of shared responsibility, trust, and the promise of protecting what we care about most. As I gently take Eri's hand, I realize that family isn’t just about blood. It’s about the quiet moments, the unspoken bonds, and the feeling that, no matter what happens, we’ll always have each other.
