Mailin’s POV:

The sun is barely peeking through the curtains when I wake up, blinking sleepily at the soft glow filtering into the common room. It’s quiet, the kind of peaceful quiet that only exists in the early morning, when everyone else is still wrapped up in their dreams.

I stretch, rubbing my eyes as I sit up in my sleeping bag. My gaze drifts around the room, and a mischievous smile tugs at my lips.

There they are. The chaos squad. Completely unaware that they’ve drifted into some of the cutest cuddles I’ve ever seen.

Kirishima is spooning Bakugou, his arm slung protectively over his waist, while Bakugou sleeps with his usual scowl, though it’s softened into something almost... peaceful. A few feet away, Kaminari has somehow tangled himself into Shinsou’s sleeping bag, their legs a jumbled mess, while Shinsou snoozes with his head resting on Kaminari’s shoulder, his hand lightly resting on Denki’s chest.

But the best part? Midoriya is nestled in Todoroki’s arms, his face pressed into Shoto’s chest as Todoroki’s hand rests gently on his green curls. They look so soft and peaceful, their breathing in sync.

My heart melts at the sight of them. This is too good to pass up.

Careful not to make a sound, I grab my phone from beside my pillow and slowly unzip my sleeping bag. The fabric rustles just a little, and I freeze, holding my breath as I scan the room to make sure no one’s stirred.

Nothing. Still out cold.

I stifle a giggle, my fingers tapping quietly on my phone as I open the camera app. Alright, let’s do this.

I creep toward Kirishima and Bakugou first, tiptoeing over to the two of them like a ninja, making sure to avoid any creaky floorboards or shifting blankets. I hold my phone up, biting my lip to keep from laughing as I frame the shot perfectly.

Click.

The photo comes out perfectly. Kirishima, all protective and snuggly, and Bakugou, blissfully unaware of how adorable he looks.

I inch my way toward Shinsou and Kaminari next. Denki’s leg is practically hanging off the side of the couch, and Shinsou’s got this small, content smile on his face, which is a rare sight to behold. I crouch down, getting the perfect angle, and—

Click.

I have to hold back a snicker as the picture saves. This is gold.

And now, for the grand finale. Tododeku. I tiptoe over to the two of them, my heart doing a little happy dance at how sweet they look together. Midoriya’s hand is fisted into Todoroki’s shirt, and Todoroki’s head is resting gently on top of Midoriya’s.

Click.

Three perfect shots. Mission accomplished.

I’m about to sneak back to my sleeping bag when the little gremlin in me stirs. A thought bubbles up, and before I can stop myself, I start humming softly under my breath. “Don’t be suspicious, don’t be suspicious...”

I tiptoe away from the sleeping bags, humming the tune as quietly as I can, but I’m barely holding it together at this point. The whole situation is just too good.

Just as I’m halfway back to my own spot, the room’s silence is broken by a low, groggy voice. “Mailin… what are you doing?”

I freeze. My heart jumps into my throat, and I slowly turn around to see Todoroki’s mismatched eyes blinking blearily at me, confusion evident on his face. Midoriya stirs beside him, shifting slightly but still asleep.

“I—uh,” I stammer, caught in the act. “I was just... uh...”

Shoto’s brow furrows slightly, his tired brain trying to piece together what’s happening. And then—he spots the phone in my hand. His eyes flicker to the other couples still fast asleep, and the realization dawns on him.

A small smile tugs at his lips, and he raises an eyebrow at me. “Taking pictures of us while we sleep?”

I bite my lip, trying to keep my cool. “Maybe...?”

Todoroki blinks slowly, as if processing this. Then, to my surprise, he shrugs and lays back down, pulling Midoriya closer into his arms. “Just don’t let Bakugou see those. He’ll kill you.”

I suppress a laugh, nodding in agreement. “Noted.”

Later that Morning:

By the time everyone else wakes up, I’m sitting innocently at the kitchen counter, scrolling through my phone like nothing’s happened. I’ve already saved the photos to my secret stash, and now I’m just waiting for the chaos to unfold.

Bakugou is the first to notice something’s off. He stretches, groaning as he sits up, rubbing his eyes. “What the hell...?”

Kirishima gives him a sleepy smile. “Good morning, Katsuki.”

Bakugou glares at him but doesn’t say anything, clearly too tired to start yelling just yet. But when he spots me across the room, his eyes narrow. “What’s with that smug look on your face, Hoshino?”

I shrug, playing it cool. “What? I’m just enjoying the morning.”

Kaminari, who’s now fully awake and sprawled out on the couch, stretches and yawns. “Man, last night was wild. Hey, Mailin, what were you up to this morning? I thought I heard you sneaking around.”

I grin, unable to resist. “Oh, nothing. Just... taking pictures.”

Bakugou’s eyes widen, and he immediately stiffens. “Of what?”

I bite my lip, holding back a laugh. “Oh, just some... really cute moments from this morning.”

The room goes silent. Everyone’s eyes snap to me, and I can see the wheels turning in their heads. Midoriya, who’s sitting up now, blushes furiously, already putting two and two together.

Kaminari’s eyes widen in excitement. “Wait, wait, wait. Are you saying—did you—Mailin, did you take pictures of us cuddling?!”

I smirk, holding up my phone. “Maybe.”

Bakugou looks like he’s about to explode, his face turning red as Kirishima tries to hold back a laugh beside him. “You better delete those right now, Hoshino!”

I stand up, laughing as I back away from the group, holding my phone up out of Bakugou’s reach. “Not a chance, Blasty! These are golden memories!”

Kaminari bursts out laughing, practically rolling off the couch. “This is too good! I wanna see them!”

“Me too!” Midoriya pipes up, though he’s still blushing furiously.

Todoroki, calm as ever, sips his coffee from the table and looks at me with an amused smile. “I did warn you about Bakugou.”

But before Bakugou can lunge at me, Kirishima stands up and wraps his arm around his shoulders, grinning. “Come on, Katsuki. Let Mailin have her fun.”

Bakugou growls, clearly annoyed but unable to stop the small smirk that tugs at his lips. “Fine. But if those pictures end up anywhere...”

I laugh, slipping my phone into my pocket. “Don’t worry, Blasty. These are for personal use only.”

The room fills with laughter, and the teasing begins again, but this time, it’s light-hearted, filled with warmth and friendship. And as I glance around at my classmates—my friends—I can’t help but feel grateful for moments like these.

Moments where we can just be ourselves, where we can tease and laugh and make memories that we’ll hold onto long after our time at U.A. is over.
