The sun shines brightly overhead as Class 1-A gathers outside, the excitement buzzing through the air. I stand with my classmates, adjusting my hero costume, feeling the familiar weight of anticipation. Today, we’re facing a surprise activity with four guests from Isamu Academy, and I can't help but feel a mix of excitement and anxiety.
As Aizawa-sensei briefs us, I can’t help but steal glances at him. His usual demeanor is calm and collected, but there's an underlying tension in his posture. It’s one of the things I find so intriguing about him—how he maintains that stoic facade even in the midst of chaos.
“Alright, class,” Aizawa says, his voice low but commanding. “We’re breaking into teams for a survival course in the forest. Your objective is to survive as long as possible. Let’s see what you can do.”
As the teams are assigned, I end up with Kaminari and Aoyama. I exchange a quick look with Midoriya, who is paired with Tsuyu and Ashido. I can’t help but worry about him; he always seems to find himself in the thick of danger.
“Stay sharp, Mailin,” Aizawa’s voice pulls me from my thoughts. I meet his gaze, and for a moment, the world around us fades. “Remember, focus on your quirk. Don’t let distractions get in the way.”
I nod, my heart racing. “I won’t let you down, Aizawa-sensei.”
As we head into the forest, the atmosphere shifts. There’s a thrill in the air mixed with a sense of dread. I can’t shake the feeling that something unexpected is waiting for us.
---
The game begins, and chaos erupts almost immediately. Aoyama tries to impress us with his quirk, but Kaminari ends up accidentally shocking himself instead. I can’t help but laugh, but the sound quickly fades when I notice how serious the situation is becoming.
Suddenly, the game takes a dark turn. We hear screams in the distance as zombified classmates stumble into view, their eyes vacant but filled with a strange familiarity. My heart sinks as I realize who they are—our friends and classmates.
“Run!” I shout, adrenaline surging through me. We sprint deeper into the forest, dodging the grasping hands of the zombies. Aoyama yelps, and I use my telekinesis to push a few of them back, buying us precious moments to escape.
“Mailin, over here!” Kaminari calls, gesturing to a cave ahead. We rush inside, panting heavily, the sounds of the zombies fading behind us. I can’t shake the unease creeping up my spine; the tension is palpable.
“Do you think they’ll find us?” Aoyama asks, his voice quivering slightly.
“They’ll have to get through us first,” I reply, trying to sound more confident than I feel. “We can’t let them catch us.”
---
In the cave, we take a moment to catch our breath, but it isn’t long before the growls and snarls echo around us. I glance at Kaminari, who looks just as anxious as I feel.
“Mailin,” he whispers, “what do we do now?”
Before I can respond, the cave entrance is suddenly illuminated by a bright flash. It’s a familiar figure—Aizawa-sensei, who bursts in, his presence instantly commanding the room. I feel a rush of relief mixed with an inexplicable flutter in my chest.
“Stay back,” he orders, scanning the cave with a fierce intensity. I can see the tension in his shoulders, the way his eyes narrow as he assesses the situation. I admire his strength, how he keeps us safe even in moments of chaos.
“We need to come up with a plan,” I say, stepping closer to him, wanting to contribute. “If we work together—”
“I know what to do,” Aizawa interrupts, his voice steady. “Stay close and follow my lead.”
As he takes charge, a sense of safety washes over me. I watch him closely, aware of the fierce protectiveness in his demeanor. I’m struck by how much I want to support him, to prove myself worthy of being in his presence.

When the chaos finally calms, and we’ve escaped the immediate threat, I glance over at Aizawa. His expression softens just slightly as he looks at us, a small sign of relief.
“You did well,” he says, his voice low. “Keep practicing your quirks. You’ll need them.”
“Thanks, Aizawa-sensei,” I reply, a grin spreading across my face despite the earlier fear. The thrill of survival still lingers, but it’s overshadowed by the warmth of his approval.
As we regroup with the rest of Class 1-A, I can’t shake the feeling that today’s experience has brought us closer together. The tension still hangs in the air, a reminder of unspoken feelings, but for now, I focus on the camaraderie of my classmates and the support of Aizawa-sensei, knowing that we’ll face whatever comes next together.

Aizawa’s POV
As I watch Mailin interact with the rest of the class, a surge of pride fills me. She’s resilient, capable, and she has a knack for keeping her head in chaotic situations. I can’t help but feel a protective instinct flare up, wanting to shield her from the dangers of the world outside U.A.
“Good work today,” I say, my voice low as I approach her. She looks up, her eyes shining with determination.
“Thanks, Aizawa-sensei. I think I’ve learned a lot today,” she replies, her smile brightening the heavy atmosphere.
I nod, pushing aside the warmth creeping into my chest. “Keep that spirit. It’ll serve you well.”
As the students celebrate their survival, I can’t help but think about how much I care for them all. And especially for Mailin. But I have to keep my distance—after all, I’m her teacher. It’s a boundary I can’t cross, no matter how much I want to.
Still, I can’t ignore the way she looks at me, the unspoken connection we share. It’s a complicated mess, and as the sun sets on the training grounds, I can’t help but feel a sense of uncertainty about what the future holds.
