Carla and Lisa

Part 78

Carla had gone back to work part time happily letting Betsy take her place as she had done such a good job in the year she had been on maternity leave. She and her daughter had decided she will take on the smaller jobs and Betsy would continue to deal with the big deals.

Lisa Swain however was tired. Work has been busy she was finally back in a routine and was on a big case. She was tired and missed her family. She had been back for 6 months now.

She had broke 3 promises this week of being home for tea and would get in at 11pm. She would kiss her daughter good night and head to her room where she knew Carla and Archie would be.

The boy refused to go to his cot until his mummy kissed him good night. She knew this would be draining her wife.  She knew neither of them had signed up to do this alone.

So she grabbed the little boy for the bed and kissed him good night before taking him to his cot   She got in the bed and kissed her wife's cheek feeling her wife's arm circling around her. "Missed you" Carla muttered tiredly. "Missed you too baby. Go back to sleep" she replied pushing her back against the others front.

"When do we get you back?" Carla asked

"Soon baby soon I promise" Lisa replied praying that she wasn't lying to her wife again.

"Love you" Carla finally mumbled.

"I love you more than anything" Lisa replied. Both quickly falling back to sleep.

Lisa managed to keep to her promise. Soon may have meant a week but she was finally finished with the case.

Tonight she would return to her home at a normal time and get the chance hold her wife whilst she was still awake.

She nipped to the florist on her way home and brought a huge bunch of roses for her wife. And headed home. She picked up a take away on the way knowing from the text she had received from Carla the brunette didn't fancy cooking.

She pulled up from on the drive and headed into the house. It was strange seeing it in the light.

She was met by sonny jumping up her legs. "Hello boy" she stroked the dogs head. She then heard Carla's voice shouting to Betsy about something. The living room door opened and Archie came running into her arms.

"Mummy!" He screamed as she picked him up lifting him into the air.

"Hello. Mummy has missed you so much my boy"
Lisa smiled kissing his head.

"Mum!" Betsy smiled as she stood from the sofa and pulled her mum in for a hug. "Oh bets. I've missed you so much. I've missed you all so much" Lisa smiled tears in her eyes.

"We missed you too" she heard Carla say from the kitchen. The women was leaning against the door frame. Lisa waved her hand over for them to have a family hug.

The four of them stood there for a while.

Once they pulled away Betsy sat her self down on the sofa. Lisa went back into the hall way with Archie still on her hip. "Hold this baby" she whispered to the boy passing him the flowers and picked up the take away.

"I have come bearing gifts." Lisa smiled walking in.

"These are for you my love" she smiled to Carla Archie passes her the bunch. She still managed to make the brunette blush with gestures like this.
