It was Friday. Classes were back to normal and most teachers were just acting like nothing out of the ordinary happened, or could ever happen. My gym teacher was still trying to get me to open up, or something, Raf said it was normal for some teachers who want to make an impact on kids with potential. Apparently it happened to him a lot when he was young and shy.

Raf and I ate our lunch together in the library now, taking the time to study Cybertronian since Raf was far more busy doing more advanced work with Ratchet at base. Focusing on the mix of human and Cybertronian coding and engineering was cool, but he was behind on learning the language.

"We'll have to ask someone about this." I sighed, slamming the end of my pen down on the sentence we were stuck on, "I think we might have lost the context, or something."

"Could be a grammar error?" He thought aloud, "Ratchet's helped a little bit with quick translations on the spot when I need help working on the computers, but otherwise it doesn't help for actual reading. Who would we ask?"

I mumbled to myself, "Bumblebee or Smoke?"

We met eyes, quickly sighing together. "Arcee?" He suggested.

"What about her?"

I sat up straight and blinked as Jack pulled out a seat beside me and sat down.

"Hey Jack!" Raf smiled, "What brings you here?"

"I just saw you guys when I was walking to the caf. I figured I'd join you, my other friends are going out."

"Going out where?" I asked.

Usually, Jack stuck with his friends during school, and didn't really talk to any of us. It was respectable, he didn't want to lose his friends or get found out for being on Team Prime, and the more we interacted with each other the more people would get suspicious of something else going on. It was odd for him to just not go out with them.

He shrugged, "Some new pizza place, but my mom makes me make my own lunch, you know, health reasons. Plus I need to stop spending all my money."

I smiled, "Not getting any more shifts at the drive-through?"

He groaned, leaning back in his seat, "Not after I trashed my boss' car with Smokescreen." I stifled a laugh and he shot his head over to me, "Did you just laugh at me?"

"No." I quickly said.

"You totally did!"

"Maybe we could ask Ultra Magnus?" Raf suddenly said, and I blinked, turning from my no-blink war with Jack to Raf, who'd long moved onto continue his studying.

"Ultra Magnus is probably our best bet at a solid answer," I replied, "But... that's if he doesn't think we're wasting his time."

"Why would he think that?" Raf asked.

"He doesn't seem to care much for anyone who isn't a fellow soldier."

Jack hummed, "Yeah, you're kinda right. He's pretty much always on work-mode."

"Well, so is Optimus?" Raf said.

"Not the same." Jack shook his head, "Optimus... kind of... respects us. He cares about us. But Ultra Magnus doesn't seem to have the same vibe."

I nodded, "I agree, but it couldn't hurt to try. I'll ask him myself."

"Man, I do not want to go to third period."

I eyed the boy beside me, with his head back and his neck exposed... he swallowed and my face slowly fell, eyeing the colour of his skin, trailing up to the way his hair fell back, revealing his forehead... Jeez, at this point he should just shave his head so I can get over myself.
