Chapter 44: Age of the Dinobots

Eventually, Whoopwing then says, "(Filtered) Zimlock? You guys got Vehicon Cars, Trucks, and Tanks in front of you. We don't see a way around them. At least twelve of each type."

Zimlock replies before saying and then asking, "Acknowledged. Jam their commlinks; can't risk sounding the alarms. Zlug, Znarl, Zludge, Zlash, Zkar, prepare for battle. The rest of you, guard our directions. Zwoop, Whoopwing, can you and the others provide air support?"

Whoopwing replies, "(Filtered) Absolutely, boss."

Zwoop adds, "(Filtered) Definitely, Zimlock."

Zwoop and Whoopwing bombards the Vehicon Troopers, taking out 25 of them.

The commanding Vehicon calls out belatedly, "Autobot intruders! Prepare for battle!"

The Dinobots eventually got through the other Vehicons thanks to their new status as Triple Changers, using their combat maneuvers in dinosaur mode and their weapons in vehicle mode to decimate the drones.

Of course, Pserry managed to kill two more who were trying to fly away to warn someone.

After getting past more Vehicons along with using their Triple Changer frames to full advantage, which includes using both laser breath and fire breath on some Tank Vehicons, the Dinobots used their dino modes to kill the platoon of Leapers at the last checkpoint.

At Blockwave's control console, Zimlock roars while getting ready to use his fire breath, "BLOCKWAVE!"

Suddenly, orange Energon electricity lasers stopped the Dinobots long enough for restraints to imprison them.

Blockwave says while briefly glancing back at the Dinobots, "I can't calculate how unlikely and still successful you were in escaping your cells, getting back your vehicle modes to become Triple Changers, and then getting here without sounding any alarms, but it is unimportant. You didn't even stop to think that I'd build an army as powerful as all of you, and not have a way to control it? Now, sit there like good pets while I finish my work."

Blockwave opens the commlink lines and says, "Slackstorm. I have successfully opened a portal to the target planet. The portal is stable and ready for you."

But there was no response from Slackstorm.

Blockwave then says, "Slackstorm, I repeat, I have successfully opened a portal to the target planet. The portal is stable and ready for you."

Zlash remarks, "Communication problems, Blockwave?"

Blockwave turns around to face them and snarls emotionlessly, "You fools! You must have damaged my communications equipment beyond repair. Your brainless blundering has stopped the salvation of – "

But Blockwave doesn't finish as Zwoop and the other Dinobot fliers breathed a blast of fire atop him without melting the control panels.
