As I walked into the campus, I felt the weight of eyes on me. It was like every single person was suddenly interested in the new girl. I heard whispers.

Boy 1: "Whoa, who’s that? Have you seen her before?"

Boy 2: "Nah, she’s new. But damn, she is beautiful."

Boy 3: "New girl’s already the talk of the school. Look at that face."

Boy 4: "I don’t blame ‘em. Those dimples are killer."

I pretended not to notice, but my heart was pounding. I was trying to make my way to the admissions department, but getting through the curious stares was more nerve-wracking than I’d imagined.

Then, I saw three guys by the lockers. Two of them looked friendly, chatting easily with one another. The third guy, though... he was different. His face was unreadable, cold even. Usually, guys smile when they see me, but not this one. He barely even glanced my way, and when he did, it felt like he was staring right through me. I shivered a little.

Feeling a bit out of place, I decided to approach the two friendlier-looking guys. But as soon as I took a step toward them, they both suddenly walked away, leaving me standing there with the cold guy. Great. Just my luck.

Before I could say anything, I heard a voice yell from behind me.

“Muffinnnnnnn!”

I groaned, slapping my palm to my face. "No, not this name... no, no..." I muttered under my breath. Without even turning around, I knew exactly who it was.

Bora. My childhood friend. She was on a family trip, and now here she was, loud and dramatic as ever.

Bora rushed over and hugged me tightly, squeezing me until I could barely breathe. I hugged her back, giving her a small smile.

Bora: “How are you, Muffin?”

I smiled and nodded, not trusting my voice to respond with any enthusiasm. Bora then turned to the guy, flashing him a bright smile.

Bora: "Hi, Jimin."

Jimin? So that’s his name. The guy barely acknowledged her. He just gave Bora a cold stare and walked away, not even nodding in response.

Bora: “Well, that’s Jimin being Jimin. Let’s go, Muffin.”

Me: “Bora, not that name in public, please.”

Bora: “Old habits die hard.” She smirked, completely ignoring my plea.

I sighed. Me: “Ugh… do you know him?”

Bora: “Jimin? Yeah, I’ll tell you everything about him and the college. Come on, I’ll take you to the admissions department.”

As we walked, Bora filled me in on Jimin.

Bora: “So, his name’s Jimin. His family’s rich—like, really loaded. His mom donates a huge amount of money to this college. He’s also the top student here. But he doesn’t talk to anyone, like, ever. He just sticks with his two friends, who are super friendly, by the way. Not like him.”

I glanced back in the direction Jimin had gone. Top student, huh? That explained the cold, no-nonsense vibe.

Meanwhile, in the classroom, Jimin and his friends—Jungkook and Jhope—were sitting down, getting ready for the day.

Jungkook: “Do you think she’s coming to our class?”

Jhope: “Did you see her dimples?”

Jungkook smirked, elbowing his friend.

Jungkook: “She’s cute, right?”

Jhope: “Dude, the whole college is talking about her.”

Jimin: “Great. One more thing to distract you idiots.”

Jungkook: smirked, raising an eyebrow: “Why do I have this weird feeling you’re about to join the idiots club because of her?”

Jimin shot him a death stare.

Jimin: “What makes you think that?”

Jhope: “You’re usually the first to leave when a girl comes up to talk, but this time, you stood there... like you were observing her.”

Jimin’s stare darkened.

Jimin: “I’m not in the mood for this. You already know what I’m focused on.”

Jungkook and Jhope exchanged glances but didn’t push the subject further.

Back in the admissions department, Bora and I finished up my paperwork and headed to class. The butterflies in my stomach were in full force as we walked through the hallways. Bora was still talking a mile a minute, giving me the lowdown on the college, but I was only half-listening. My mind kept drifting back to the cold guy—Jimin.

We finally arrived at the classroom, but the professor had already started the lesson. Bora, with her signature confidence, walked right in.

Bora: “Excuse me, sir,” she said with a bright smile. “Good morning, we have a new joiner today.”

Professor: “Good morning, Bora. And good morning to you, Miss…?”

I stepped forward, feeling a dozen pairs of eyes on me.

Me: “Good morning, sir. I’m YN.”

Professor: “YN, please introduce yourself and find an empty seat.”

I turned to face the class and nearly tripped over my own feet when I saw him. Jimin. Of course. He was in my class. He sat near the back, looking as cold and unbothered as ever. And damn, he was handsome. I shook my head quickly, trying to snap myself out of it.

Professor: “YN?”

Oh god. I’d completely zoned out.

Me: “Right! Uh, hi everyone, I’m YN. I’m new here. Nice to meet you all.”

My face was burning as I scanned the room, looking for a seat. There was one near the front of Jimin. I hurried over, praying that I wouldn’t make a complete fool of myself on my first day.
