Ji-won only smirked, clearly unfazed by his tone. "Alright, alright, don't be so serious. I'm just trying to make things a little more interesting for us." She followed him out of the classroom, still radiating her self-assured energy.
Once they were out of earshot of the class, Jimin turned to face her. "Why are you here, Ji-won? And don't give me any of that 'I missed you' nonsense. What's your real reason?"
Ji-won crossed her arms, her smirk fading slightly. "Oh, come on, Jimin. Don't you know by now? I'm here because I want you. And I'm not going to let some nobody from your class ruin what we could have together. My parents have influence, Jimin. So do I. And you know my family and yours are practically destined to unite."
Jimin gritted his teeth. "You can't just show up and decide what's best for me, Ji-won. You think you can barge in, take over, and everything will just go your way?"
Ji-won laughed, flicking her hair back. "It's not about 'going my way.' It's about what's inevitable. You and I, we're both from powerful families. We're a perfect match, and your mother sees it too. She's tired of waiting for you to 'come to your senses,' so she sent me here to make things clear."
Jimin's face hardened. "So that's it? You're here to play some power game because my mother asked you to?"
She shrugged. "Believe what you want, Jimin. But I'm not letting some random girl get in the way of what's ours. I don't care about her or her feelings. She's not in our league, and your mother knows it."
Jimin stepped back, his anger barely contained. "Listen, Ji-won, I don't care about family influence or wealth. I care about who I want to be with. And it's not you."
Ji-won's smirk faded, her eyes narrowing. "You'll regret saying that, Jimin. I always get what I want. And if I have to make life difficult for her, then so be it." She leaned in closer, her voice a low, chilling whisper. "Your mother and I are on the same page. We both know what's best for you, whether you see it or not."
Jimin clenched his fists, feeling trapped. "You're only here because my mother's too controlling to let me make my own choices. But let me make one thing clear: I won't let you ruin YN's life just because of your selfishness."
Ji-won's eyes sparkled with a dangerous glint. "You can try, Jimin. But remember, I'm not someone you can just push away. I'll be here—watching, waiting—and I don't care what it takes. I'll get you, one way or another."
With that, Ji-won turned on her heel and walked back into the classroom, leaving Jimin feeling more conflicted than ever.
After class Jimin and Jungkook gathered their things and began heading out the door, their minds still tangled with everything that had happened over the last two days.
As they walked down the hallway, Ji-won appeared in front of them, her high heels clicking against the floor, the sound of her presence demanding attention. Without any hesitation, she slid her arm through Jimin's, locking him in place with her confident grip.
"Baby, I'm coming with you," Ji-won purred, her voice dripping with arrogance. "I need to meet your mom."
Jimin stopped in his tracks, his hand immediately pulling away from hers. He turned to face her, his expression cold. Jungkook looked at the two of them, a mixture of concern and confusion in his eyes.
"You have your own car. I'm not going home, so just leave me alone." Jimin said through clenched teeth.
He turned to walk away, but before he could take another step, he looked over his shoulder with a warning glint in his eyes.
"Don't call me baby again."
Ji-won smirked, clearly unphased by his cold rejection. "Oh, come on Jimin... you don't have to be so harsh. You know I'm just getting started."
Jimin didn't respond, just turned and walked off, leaving her standing there with a smirk on her face.
Later that evening, as the night settled in, YN was lying in bed, trying her best to stop the tears from falling. She felt her heart breaking more with every passing minute.
Her phone buzzed beside her, pulling her from her thoughts. It was a call from Bora.
YN wiped her eyes before answering.
YN: "Hey, Bora. What's up?"
Bora: "Muffin, I... I just wanted to check on you. I've waited for your text from morning, and I'm worried about you."
YN: "I'm fine... really. Just... just tired."
Bora hesitated on the other end, then spoke again, her voice careful. "I don't want to make things worse, but ... I'm not sure how you'll take it."
