Ji-Won (laughing softly, tilting her head):
"Regret it? You wouldn't dare. You're too much of a mama's boy to do anything that would upset her. And guess what? Your mom adores me. Who do you think she'd believe?"(Jimin's hands twitch at her words, but he maintains his composure, his voice dripping with barely contained fury.)
Jimin:
"This is your final warning, Ji-Won. Stay away from YN. Whatever you think you can do, it won't work. And if you try-"Ji-Won (interrupting, her smile sharp as a blade):
"You'll what? Protect her? Fight for her? How noble. But we both know she already hates you. And with me in the picture, she'll never stop."As the music continued, the announcer called for a partner swap. Before YN could process what was happening, she found herself in Jimin's arms. She blinked in surprise, her breath catching as she realized who was holding her.
YN (annoyed):
"Great. Just my luck."Jimin (softly, his eyes fixed on her):
"Muffin..."YN (glaring at him):
"Don't. Don't call me that. You've already ruined it enough."Jimin's grip on her waist tightened slightly as he pulled her closer, ignoring her resistance. His gaze was unwavering, filled with longing and guilt.
Jimin:
"You look breathtaking tonight."YN (sarcastically):
"Oh, thanks. Coming from you, that means so much."Jimin (ignoring her tone):
"I mean it. You always do."YN (rolling her eyes, voice sharp):
"Save your fake compliments for someone else, Jimin. I'm not interested in whatever you're trying to do."Jimin flinched slightly at her words but didn't back down. His voice grew softer, almost pleading.
Jimin:
"I don't want to fight with you. I want to make things right, Muffin."YN (snapping):
"I said stop calling me that! And there's nothing to fix. You've done enough, so just let it go."Jimin (his voice trembling slightly):
"I can't. I can't let you go. I..."YN (cutting him off):
"You should. Because I've moved on, Jimin. I have a boyfriend. Stay in your limits."Jimin froze, his expression crumbling as her words hit him like a blow. For a moment, he didn't say anything, just stared at her with pain etched across his face.
Jimin (whispering, almost to himself):
"You're lying..."YN (coldly):
"Why would I lie? Unlike you, I don't play games with people's feelings."Jimin's hands gripped her tighter, refusing to let her go even as the music stopped. YN tried to pull away, but he wouldn't budge.
YN (angrily):
"Let me go, Jimin! The song's over!"Jimin:
"Not until you listen to me-"Just then, Jungkook approached them, his voice calm but firm.
Jungkook:
"Jimin, let her go."Jimin didn't move at first, his jaw clenched as he struggled with his emotions. Jungkook leaned in, whispering into Jimin's ear.
Jungkook (quietly):
"Your mom's watching. Don't make this worse."Jimin's shoulders tensed, and his grip on YN finally loosened. He let out a shaky breath as he stepped back, his eyes lingering on her for a moment longer.
She turned and walked away without looking back, heading straight to her parents. Jungkook watched her leave before turning to Jimin, placing a reassuring hand on his shoulder.
Jungkook (softly):
"Man, you're going to make things harder if you keep pushing like this."Jimin didn't respond, his gaze fixed on the floor as he fought to steady his breathing. Jungkook sighed, leading him away from the center of the room.
Jimin's dad steps outside the party to take a call but stops when he notices Ji-Won nearby, speaking animatedly on her phone. He hides himself behind a column, his face darkening as he listens.
Ji-Won (sounding frustrated):
"Ugh, I can't believe this! Jimin's been so cold and distant lately. It's like he thinks he's better than me now."Friend:
"What do you mean? He's still Jimin, the same rich, handsome guy every girl would kill to date."Ji-Won (mockingly):
"Yeah, handsome is the only thing he's got going for him. You know what he's like, don't you? Without his looks and his family name, he's a total zero."Friend (laughing):
"Well, isn't that why you're after him? He's a Park, after all. Rich, good-looking-easy life secured."Ji-Won:
"Exactly. But he's been acting so high and mighty lately, refusing to even let me get close to him. Can you believe he told me not to come closer during our dance? Who does he think he is?"Friend:
"Seriously? What's his deal? Maybe he's into someone else."Ji-Won (scoffing):
"Ha! That's laughable. Who'd he even be into? He doesn't have a choice, anyway. He's under his mommy's thumb now, and later, he'll be under mine. I'll make sure of that. All I need is to marry him, and after that, he can do whatever he wants as long as I'm Mrs. Park."Friend:
"What if he finds out you're just using him for his?Ji-Won (smirking):
"Please, he's too dumb for that. He can't even make his own decisions. His mom pulls all the strings, and I'll take over after her. He's just a pawn. I don't even care about him, really. It's his lifestyle I want."Jimin's dad clenches his fists, his face dark with fury. He walks away before Ji-Won notices him, heading back inside to find his wife.Inside the house, Jimin's dad storms into a quieter room where Jimin's mom is supervising the staff. She turns to him with a polite smile, but his expression makes her freeze.
