Bora laughed, trying to muffle the sound but failing miserably. Her shoulders shook as she leaned closer to YN. "Did you hear that? Jungkook is brutal," she whispered, her tone laced with amusement.
YN gave a small smile despite her heavy heart, but she quickly looked down, not wanting to draw attention to herself.
Ji-Won scoffed, narrowing her eyes at Jungkook. "You think you're so clever, don't you?"
Jungkook smirked, leaning back in his chair with a relaxed demeanor. "I don't think I'm clever, Ji-Won. I know I am. But thanks for the reminder."
Jimin, who had been silently clenching his fists, finally spoke, his voice low but firm. "Ji-Won, stop embarrassing yourself and leave me alone. I'm not in the mood for your games."
Ji-Won's face turned red with a mix of frustration and embarrassment. "I was just joking," she muttered, trying to save face.
The rest of the day, Jimin couldn't take his eyes off YN. She was quieter than usual, her head down as she avoided looking in his direction. Guilt weighed heavily on him, knowing how much he had hurt her. Ji-Won, noticing his distraction, grew more irritated with every passing minute. When the last class ended, Ji-Won slammed her notebook shut and stormed out of the room without a word. Jungkook, sitting beside Jimin, nudged him lightly. "Hyung, you good?"
Jimin didn't respond, his eyes locked on YN as she packed her bag. Jungkook followed his gaze and sighed. "You should talk to her."
Outside the classroom, Jimin and Jungkook waited near the door. When YN finally stepped out with Bora, Jimin straightened, his heart pounding.
YN saw him immediately but avoided his eyes, keeping her gaze fixed ahead. She tightened her grip on her bag and walked past him without a word. Bora stayed close by her side, giving Jimin a warning glance.
Jimin followed them, his steps quickening to catch up. "Muffin, I need to talk with you," he called out, his voice desperate.
YN didn't respond, her face serious as she sped up.
Bora shot him an icy glare. "Jimin, leave her alone. What more is left for you to ruin?"
Jungkook interjected, his tone calm. "Bora, it's their matter. He has an explanation."
Bora stopped in her tracks, turning to face Jungkook. "Explanation? For acting like he has feelings for her while messing around with Ji-Won? You call that an explanation?"
Jimin ignored their exchange and focused on YN, jogging to catch up with her. "Muffin, please listen to me. Just once," he pleaded.
YN didn't even look at him. "Bora, let's go," she said firmly, her voice devoid of emotion.
Jimin reached out and grabbed her hand, stopping her in her tracks. "Muffin, please. Me and Ji-Won don't have anything between us. I swear."
YN stiffened, still refusing to look at him. Her voice was cold and quiet. "Leave me. I said, leave me."
Jimin's grip didn't loosen. "Muffin, please look at me. Please..."
Her eyes stayed fixed on the ground as she spoke, her tone trembling with pain. "You're hurting me more, Jimin. Leave my hand."
Bora stepped forward, her voice sharp. "Let her go, Jimin."
Reluctantly, Jimin released her hand, watching helplessly as YN walked away without looking back. His chest ached as her figure disappeared in the distance.
Jungkook placed a hand on Jimin's shoulder, but his focus shifted to Bora, who was about to follow YN. "Bora, we need to talk."
Bora glanced at Jungkook, her eyes narrowing. "If it's about Jimin, I don't want to hear it," she said firmly, crossing her arms.
Jungkook stepped closer, his gaze steady as he reached out and gently took her hand. "But you have to," he said, his voice low but resolute.
She looked at him in confusion, her brows furrowing. Before she could respond, Jungkook tightened his hold and gestured for Jimin to follow. "Come with me," he said, leading them toward a quiet corner away from the bustling crowd.
Jimin walked behind them, silent and heavy-hearted. His gaze was downcast, his steps dragging as though the weight of the world rested on his shoulders.Once they were far enough away, Jungkook let go of Bora's hand and turned to Jimin. "Hyung," he said softly, watching his friend crumble right in front of him.
Jimin shook his head, his voice barely above a whisper. "She didn't even look at me, Kookie. Not even once." His hand trembled as he wiped his face, but the tears kept falling. "I want her back."
Bora's eyes widened in shock, her mouth falling open. Jimin-the ever-composed, confident Jimin-was crying.
