Classes had started, but YN found it impossible to stay awake. Her head felt heavy, her eyelids drooping as the lecturer droned on. Across the room, Jimin didn't seem to be faring much better. They both looked exhausted from their late-night encounter, and the weight of the day's demands only added to the strain.
It was in the middle of the afternoon a guy from her class walked up to her with a smug, disgusting smirk plastered across his face. He leaned in far too close, his breath hot and foul as he muttered something that made her blood run cold.
"So, who gave you that mark on your neck? How about I show you how it's really done, sweetheart?"
YN froze, her hand instinctively reaching for her neck. The warmth of her skin was suddenly unbearable as she realized what he was talking about-the mark.
She hadn't even noticed it before now. Her mind flashed back to Jimin, and her. Tears welled up in her eyes.
Before she could react, a shadow loomed behind the guy. Jimin, who had overheard the crude comment, shot up from his seat, his face contorted with rage.
Without a single word, he stormed over to the guy and punched him square in the face. The force of the blow knocked the boy back, sending the room into chaos. Gasps erupted around them, but Jimin didn't stop. His fists kept coming, his anger uncontrollable as he pounded the boy again and again.
Jungkook and Bora rushed forward, trying to pull Jimin away. But it was like he couldn't hear them.
"Hyung, stop! YN is crying; she needs you!" Jungkook shouted, his voice strained as he tried to snap Jimin out of his violent haze.
At the mention of YN's tears, Jimin froze. His fist hung in the air for a moment before he slowly turned his head toward her.
There she was, standing in the middle of the chaos, tears streaming silently down her face, her expression a mix of embarrassment and pain.
Jimin's heart sank. Guilt crashed over him like a tidal wave, his fists falling to his sides as he took a step back from the guy on the ground.
Without saying a word, Jimin marched over to YN, his hand reaching out to hers. He grabbed her fingers, pulling her gently but urgently out of the classroom.
YN barely registered the whispers and shocked faces of their classmates as they left the chaos behind.
They didn't stop until they reached a nearby store. Jimin didn't say anything as he grabbed a concealer and a few makeup items from the shelves, his grip on her hand never loosening. YN, still shaken, followed his lead in silence, confused by the sudden shift but too overwhelmed to question it.
A few minutes later, they were sitting on a park bench in a quiet corner of the city. Jimin gently pushed her hair aside, exposing the mark on her neck. YN felt her cheeks burn with embarrassment, but before she could say anything, Jimin took out the concealer and began applying it with a trembling hand.
"I'm so sorry, Muffin," Jimin whispered, his voice cracking as tears welled up in his eyes. "I should have been more careful. I didn't mean to hurt you."
YN stared at him in shock, her heart aching at the sight of his vulnerability. She reached up, wiping away the tear that escaped down his cheek. "Shhh, Jimin. I know you didn't mean to. I didn't even notice the mark until that guy said something."
Jimin wiped his own tears away, his hands still shaking as he finished covering the mark. His guilt was written all over his face, and his anger was simmering just below the surface."I'm going to kill that guy," he muttered, standing abruptly and starting to march back toward the college.
But YN jumped up, grabbing his hand before he could take another step. She stepped in front of him, her eyes pleading. "Please, leave him. I don't want to go back to college right now. Can you take me somewhere else?"
Jimin's guilt only deepened at her words. His eyes softened as he looked down at her, and after a moment, he nodded. He pulled her into a tight hug, wrapping his armsaround her as if he could protect her from everything. YN's arms slid around him in return, her cheek resting against his chest as she let herself sink into the warmth of his embrace.
When he finally pulled away, he whispered, "Wait one minute, Muffin." He pulled out his phone and made a quick call. Within a few minutes, a sleek black car pulled up beside the park. A man stepped out, handed Jimin the keys, and bowed before disappearing as quietly as he had come.
Jimin took YN's hand again, leading her toward the car. He opened the passenger door for her, waiting until she was seated before getting in himself. The engine purred to life as Jimin glanced over at her, a soft smile tugging at the corners of his lips.
"Let's go, Muffin," he said gently. And with that, they drove off, leaving the college-and all the chaos of the day-far behind them.
