YN: (sitting up slightly) "Why? What's the issue? you already have a habit of sneaking into girls' bedrooms at midnight, and now you're acting all innocent?"
Jimin: (shocked, shaking his head vehemently) "No! It's not a habit! Muffin, it's... it's only you. Always you."
YN: (her tone teasing) "Hmm. Whatever you say. Sleep here—it's cold out there. You'll freeze."
Jimin hesitated but eventually nodded, his heart thudding in his chest. He walked back to the bed and lay down beside her. He kept a safe distance, unsure of how much space to take.
YN turned toward him, her face just inches from his. Her gaze was steady, making Jimin's heartbeat quicken like a drumroll. He swore she could hear it echoing in the silence.
YN: (placing her palm over his eyes) "Close your eyes, lover boy."
Jimin: (grinning under her touch, removing her hand gently) "Lover boy?"
YN didn't answer, only smiled faintly and closed her eyes.
Jimin: (whispering as he held her wrist, squeezing it gently) "Good night, Muffin."
He lay there, staring at her face, memorizing every detail as if it would disappear if he blinked. Slowly, her breathing evened out, signaling she had fallen asleep.
In the middle of the night, YN stirred awake, her eyes fluttering open to find Jimin still holding her hand. His peaceful face, bathed in the soft moonlight, made her heart ache. She tried to gently pull her hand free without waking him.
Once free, she quietly slipped out of bed, tiptoeing downstairs to the living room. She stood by the window, her arms wrapped around herself as she stared out at the calm, starry sky.
Jimin woke up moments later, instinctively reaching for her beside him. When he found the bed empty, panic surged through him. His heart pounded as he rushed to check the bathroom.
Not finding her there, he hurried downstairs, his fear mounting until he spotted her silhouette by the window.
Jimin: (his voice breaking) "Muffin..."
YN turned, startled by his sudden appearance.
YN: "Jimin? What's wrong—"
Her words were cut off as Jimin crossed the distance between them in two strides and pulled her into a tight hug. His grip was firm, almost desperate, and she could feel his heart hammering against her.
Jimin: (his voice trembling, tears threatening to spill) "I thought you were gone... Don't leave me, please."
YN: (trying to ease his grip) "Jimin, I just couldn't sleep. That's all. I came down here for some fresh air."
Jimin: (tightening his hold, his voice barely above a whisper) "Don't leave me... ever."
YN felt his vulnerability in the way he held her. Slowly, she raised her arms and hugged him back, her touch comforting.
Jimin: (pulling back slightly to look at her, his eyes glistening) "Promise me."
YN didn't answer, but she took his hand and guided him back upstairs.
In the bedroom, YN gently pushed Jimin toward the bed.
YN: "Lie down."
Jimin sat on the edge of the bed, watching her carefully.
Jimin: "Where are you going?"
YN: (pointing to the other side of the bed) "To sleep on my side."
He exhaled in relief, lying back down as she settled in beside him.
When YN scooted closer, holding onto the neckline of his t-shirt like she used to, Jimin felt tears spill over. He missed this—the warmth of her touch, the way she clung to him like he was her safe haven.
Yn: "Are you happy now?"
Jimin: (smiling through his tears) "More than you know."
The next morning, YN woke up first. She blinked against the sunlight streaming through the window and glanced at Jimin, who was still sound asleep. His arms were wrapped tightly around her, his face peaceful but shadowed with dark circles.
YN's POV: He looks so tired... Those dark circles... He hasn't been sleeping well. How long has he been like this?
She tried to move his arm gently to get up, but Jimin groaned and tightened his grip.
Jimin: (murmuring groggily) "Please, Muffin. Five more minutes..."
YN smiled softly, resting her head back against his chest.
YN: "Hmm.
As Jimin held her close, she felt his breathing slow, a peaceful rhythm that matched her own.
Over the next few days, YN had fully settled into the house. She and Jimin spent time together almost constantly, going out for groceries, having casual dinners, and even taking quiet walks near the woods. Yet, no matter how many moments they shared, Jimin couldn't seem to get her to open up.
Every time he tried to talk about their relationship or his feelings, she skillfully dodged the topic, leaving him frustrated but too afraid to push her away again.
