Just then, Jhope and Bora walked in, breaking the silence as they joined us at the table.
Bora: "Hey! Sorry we're late!" exclaimed, her cheerful demeanour filling the space.
Jhope: "Yeah, we got caught up with some stuff," Jhope added, sliding into a chair.
I attempted to focus on the study materials in front of me, but my thoughts kept drifting back to Jimin's indifference. It was as if the hug we shared had never happened, and the stark contrast between our earlier warmth and his current coldness left me feeling unsettled.
Yn: "I think I'm going to head out early," I announced suddenly, feeling the weight of frustration and confusion pressing down on me.
Jhope: brow furrowing with concern again"Are you sure?" .
Yn: "Yeah, I just need some air," I replied, forcing a smile before gathering my things.
Before I left, I caught Jimin's eye, but his expression was blank-no hint of warmth, annoyance, or even acknowledgement. It was just a cold stare that made my heart sink.
I walked out of the library, my mind racing. Once home, I went straight to my room, closing the door behind me. I needed time to process everything that had happened.
After a few hours, everyone decided to go back to their homes.
Bora: Guys, I think we need to continue this tomorrow.
Everyone nodded and started packing their things.
Jungkook: voice broke through the quiet. "Jimin, I want to speak with you," he said, a hint of urgency in his tone.
Jimin: frowned but replied, "Okay." They both stepped out of the library.
Outside, Jungkook turned to Jimin, his expression serious.
Jungkook: "Care to explain what happened in the library with YN?"his voice steady.
Jimin: looked taken aback, eyes wide in surprise. "What do you mean?" his tone defensive.
Jungkook: shot back "Don't play dumb," "You hugged her and then told her to stay away. That's not exactly normal behaviour, man."
Jimin: rubbed the back of his neck, clearly conflicted. "I... I don't know, okay? It's complicated."
Jungkook: pressed, frustration creeping into his voice "Complicated how? You can't just act one way and then switch to another. You're messing with her head," .
Jimin: sighed, looking down the hallway as if searching for answers. "I just... I didn't mean to. Things are just... messy."
Jungkook: "Do you love her?" his tone suddenly serious. The question hung in the air, heavy with implication.
Jimin: stiffened, taken aback by the directness of the question. "What? That's-"
Jungkook: pressed, his gaze steady, "Just answer me," "Do you love YN or not?"
Jimin opened his mouth to respond but hesitated, caught in a whirlwind of conflicting emotions. He ran a hand through his hair, frustration and confusion etched on his face.
Jimin: "I... I don't know, okay? I don't even know what I'm feeling right now!"
Jungkook: "Exactly. You're confused because you keep pushing her away," his voice calm but firm. "You need to figure this out before it's too late. You can't keep acting like nothing matters when clearly, it does."
Jimin: "I thought staying away would be easier for both of us," his voice dropping to a whisper. "But it's not. I hate seeing her upset, and I don't want to hurt her. I just... I can't seem to control how I feel."
Jungkook: "Is it because of them?" his brow furrowing with concern. "Is that why you're pushing her away?"
Jimin's jaw tightened at the mention of the others-the expectations, the pressure to maintain a certain image. "Maybe," he admitted, frustration creeping into his voice.
Jimin: "I just don't want to complicate things further. I don't want her to be part of this mess."
Jungkook: "But she's already part of your life, Hyung," "You can't pretend she doesn't matter. If you care about her, you need to let her in, not shut her out."
Jimin felt a pang of guilt wash over him. Jungkook was right. Ignoring his feelings wouldn't make them disappear; it would only make things worse. "I know that," he sighed, running a hand through his hair again.
Jimin: "But what if I hurt her? What if I can't be the person she thinks I am?"
Jungkook stepped closer, his voice softer now.
Jungkook: "Then be honest with her. Let her decide. "You need to figure this out before it's too late, Jimin."
