YN nodded, managing a small smile, though she felt a pang at the thought of him leaving. He turned to go, but she instinctively reached out, her hand catching the hem of his shirt, stopping him.
Jimin looked back, a soft glint in his eyes as he took her hand, pressing a tender kiss to her knuckles softly and pulled her into a tight hug. "I'll be back, Muffin. Go on back to class," he murmured gently before walked away.
Watching him leave, YN felt a strange pang of worry, but she nodded, heading back to class,
as he walked toward the principal's office, his heart pounding with unease.
When Jimin entered the principal's office, his mother stood beside the principal's desk, her posture stiff and her gaze piercing. The principal quickly excused himself, leaving them alone.
Once he was gone, his mother wasted no time. "Who is YN?" she demanded, her tone cold and sharp.
Jimin felt his stomach twist, but he kept his face neutral. "She's just a classmate," he replied, keeping his tone even.
"Just a classmate?" His mother's gaze hardened, threw a pile of photos on the floor, images of him and YN from various moments.
Jimin's eyes widened, realizing the extent of his mother's interference. "Are you spying on me?" he asked, his tone laced with disbelief.
"Call it what you like," his mother replied coldly. "It's time you stop wasting your time on this girl and focus on what matters."
Jimin clenched his jaw, looking down, struggling to keep his emotions in check.
She raised an eyebrow, her tone sharp. "Do you mind telling me what's going on, Jimin?"
Jimin clenched his jaw, forcing himself to look away. His voice was low, controlled. "There's nothing to tell," he replied.
Outside the office, YN stood by the door, having felt a strange urge to come and check on him. The conversation between Jimin and his mother drifted through the door, making her stomach twist with each word.
His mother's voice sliced through the air. "Do you love Yn? Are you serious about her?"
Jimin hesitated for a brief second, then spoke, his voice cold and detached. "No, I don't love her.
Each word felt like a dagger in YN's chest. She clapped a hand over her mouth to stifle a sob, tears welling in her eyes as the realization sank in.
As YN stood there, struggling to hold back her tears, Bora emerged from the hallway, spotting her friend in distress. She hurried over, worry creasing her face. "YN? Are you okay?" Bora asked softly, glancing toward the principal's office.
Jimin: I was... distracted. I thought she might be entertaining, something to pass the time. But it's nothing serious. Once this attraction fades, things will go back to normal."
"Did you hear that?" YN whispered, her voice barely a breath. Bora's gaze hardened as she listened, her own heart sinking with each painful word.
"This isn't the first time, Jimin," his mother's voice was calm, yet filled with unmistakable disappointment. "I don't know what's gotten into you, but your priorities are slipping. You've been missing family dinners, letting your studies slide, and now this."
"Mom, I haven't been neglecting anything," Jimin started defensively, his voice tense, but she raised a hand, silencing him.
She stepped closer, her gaze piercing as she leaned in, her voice dropping to a low, icy whisper.
"Do you know both her parents work for us?" Her words were a soft but chilling warning. "I'm already considering cutting back on... unnecessary staff. Don't make me add her family to that list, Jimin."
The threat hung heavy in the air, a reminder of her reach and control.
Jimin's jaw clenched, his fists tightening at his sides. He forced himself to keep his gaze steady, though his heart pounded with anger and frustration.
Jimin: I understand.
His mother's expression softened, but only slightly. "Good. Better to focus on your future, not on silly distractions like her." She gave a curt nod and left the office.
As Jimin stepped out, he froze when he saw YN standing there, her tear-streaked face breaking his composure. She looked at him, her eyes a storm of hurt and betrayal. Bora's arm wrapped protectively around YN, glaring at him.
