You sat cross-legged on the living room floor, surrounded by a mountain of pillows and blankets. Rain pattered against the windows, creating a rhythmic symphony that soothed your nerves. The scent of fresh laundry filled the air as you stacked the pillows, one by one, into a makeshift fortress. Your fingers traced over the soft fabric, the coolness a stark contrast to the warmth of your skin. Kirishima lounged nearby, his gentle snores a testament to his relaxation. He had been your partner in crime for this afternoon adventure, eagerly helping to construct this cozy sanctuary from the storm.
The room was a canvas of neutral tones, interrupted by the vibrant splash of color from a pile of comic books that had been displaced by the pillow avalanche. The couch loomed in the background, a forgotten sentinel of normalcy in this new pillow kingdom. Above you, the ceiling fan spun lazily, casting shifting shadows across the floor. Each revolution sent a soft breeze ruffling through your hair, a gentle reminder of the tempest outside.
As the storm grew closer, the house groaned with the occasional gust of wind. Yet within the fort's embrace, you felt safe, a warm bubble against the cold, wet world. You reached for the TV remote, flipping through channels in search of a good movie to watch, something to drown out the growing cacophony of the rain. The blue light from the screen bathed the room in a soft glow, reflecting off the raindrops on the glass.
Just as you settled on a classic film, the sound of heavy footsteps echoed down the hallway. You looked up, expecting Kirishima to stir from his nap, but instead, it was Bakugo. He stopped in the doorway, arms crossed over his chest, his eyes scanning the room with a mix of confusion and annoyance. His hair stood on end, as if charged by the electricity in the air. You bit back a grin, knowing full well what he thought of your whimsical endeavor. He scoffed, his lip curling up in a sneer, before turning on his heel and stomping away. The door slammed shut with a thunderous finality that made the walls shake.
Minutes ticked by, and the storm outside grew more ferocious. Yet, amidst the chaos, there was a knock on the makeshift door of your pillow fort. You poked your head out, and there stood Bakugo, his arms laden with steaming mugs of something warm and fragrant. His usual fiery glare was replaced by a begrudging acceptance, as if he had conceded to the allure of comfort.
"What's that?" You asked, voice muffled by the pillows.
"Cocoa," he grunted, extending the tray towards you.
You couldn't help but laugh, taking a mug with a smirk. "Thanks, Kacchan. Did you finally decide to join us?"
He huffed, setting the tray down and sliding into the cramped space. "It's either this or be bored out of my mind."
Kiri laughed, grabbing his own mug from the tray.
"Looks like we've got ourselves a third musketeer," he said, nudging you with his elbow.Bakugo rolled his eyes but couldn't hide the hint of a smile that tugged at his lips. He took a sip of the cocoa, the warmth seeping into his bones. The sweet aroma filled the pillow fort, mingling with the scent of rain and fabric softener. The three of you huddled closer together, sharing the small space that had somehow become more inviting with each addition.
The storm outside grew wilder, lightning flashing and thunder booming. Each crack echoed through the house, but instead of fear, it brought a strange sense of excitement. The fort felt like a secret clubhouse, a place where only the brave and adventurous were allowed. You took a sip of your cocoa, the chocolatey warmth spreading through you like an extra comforting blanket.
Bakugo's eyes remained fixed on the TV, but you could feel his body slowly relax as the warmth of the drink and the coziness of the fort seeped into his usual tough exterior. He grumbled something about the movie being too cheesy but didn't make a move to change the channel.
As the film played on, the sound of the rain grew softer, the thunder more distant. Finishing your cocoa, you nestled deeper into the pillows, feeling the warmth of the liquid spread through your chest. Kirishima leaned over, his arm draping casually around your shoulder, and you leaned into his embrace.
Bakugo, not one to be outdone, laid his head down on your lap. "If I'm gonna watch this, I'm gonna be comfortable," he mumbled, though his actions spoke louder than his words. You shared a knowing smile with Kirishima as he sipped the last of his cocoa.
The three of you snuggled closer as the movie played out its predictable plot, the dialogue fading into the background. Kirishima's arm grew heavier around your shoulder as his eyes grew heavier with sleep. His breathing evened out, and you felt his muscles relax against you.
Mindlessly, you played with Bakugo's hair. His posture stiffened at first, but soon he was melting into your touch, a slight snore escaping his lips.
The warmth from the cocoa and the gentle embrace of your companions lulled you into a peaceful slumber. The movie's background noise grew fainter, the dialogue blurring into a comforting white noise that soon disappeared entirely. Your head found its resting place against Kirishima's shoulder, and you felt your own breathing sync with the rhythm of theirs.
When you awoke, the storm had passed. The living room was bathed in the soft glow of the setting sun, painting everything in warm, golden hues.
Bakugo was still out cold, his head resting heavily on your thigh. His face, usually a mask of aggression, had softened into something almost childlike. Kirishima's arm was still around you, his breaths deep and even. You smiled, content with a lazy afternoon with your two favorite people.
