It's been a week later and I haven't spoke to Mo yet. I tried calling her but she was busy. It's hard having a best friend who is all the way in Cape Town while you're here. I recently unfollowed Kabelo on everything and deleted his number, I want nothing to do with that boy. Turns out I have an odd crush on my lecturer. Boy he is so fine! I can't deal anymore, I've been trying to stop my thoughts about him but each time I see him he just makes me dream about him even more.
"Are you coping?" He asked as I kept trying the sums he gave me. It's afterschool and he decided to sit with me while I practice maths with him. "You need to take a break, you've been on it for an hour now" he said and I chuckled before putting my pen down. "I'm trying to show you how serious I am" I said and he laughed. "How are you doing though? Books aside?" He said as he sat in front of me again.
I eventually confided in him because he kept asking me why I looked the way I did and why I seemed distracted and sad. "I'm good, I'm better, can't you see" I smiled as I pointed at my outfit. "Stand up, let me see you!" He asked and I playfully, but not really playfully twirled in my sundress and sandals. He looked at me like I was the most beautiful thing he has ever seen in his life. The silence was loud, he looked at me, gazed into my eyes for a long time after showing him what I was wearing. It was like he was thinking about something, I reminded him of something I guess.
"That boy has no clue what he lost" he said softly as he stood up and walked to the back of his desk. I was so confused, I really got tempted to ask him about his behaviour but what would that lead to? What if he is being genuine and he cares about me like a brother would and I ruin the whole thing up because I think he's flirting and because I have a mini crush on him. "You have a girlfriend sir?" I asked as I brought my book to the board.
He sat on his chair. "Yeah I do, her name is Marissa." he said as he rubbed his chin, he said this hesitantly, like he wasn't sure if that's his girlfriend or not. I wrote a sum on the board, the most challenging one I couldn't get right, I needed his help. To be honest, my heart sunk to the bottom when I heard him say he has a girlfriend. "How is she? How long have you guys been together?" I asked and he walked up to me. "We've been together for 2 years now, she just gave birth a week ago" he said and I dropped my book out of nervousness, I have a crush on somebody's father. I reached down to pick it up and I looked right into his eyes after standing up.
"Congratulations! Is it a girl or a boy?" I asked as i tried to break eye contact and he said it's a girl with a smile. I could tell he was a happy father, a jolly dad. "What's her name?" I asked. "Gabriella" he smiled before holding my hand. I panicked and let the chalk fall before pulling my hand back. We both reached for it this time and as cliche as it is, I couldn't handle the heat so I took a step back and looked at the board.
The silence was intense, I could feel it in my chest. It felt like it was caving in. "See you tomorrow Mr J" I said as I quickly walked out his class after our afternoon session. I feel so bad for liking him, the fact that he is intriguing and his aura is magnetic, I just can't handle the heat. I'm embarrassed because what if he can tell and I keep making it evident. I got in my dad's car and immediately looked out the window. "I don't get a hello because you had a bad day or are you mad at me?" He asked and I laughed as I turned to him. "I'm sorry dad, hi" I hugged him.
My dad spoke about the book he's read about Congo history and I found it interesting but Marissa, Gabriella and Jermaine kept ringing in my mind so I decided to do a little stalking, a little investigating. I found Jermaine but his account was private so I just left it. We eventually got home and I threw my bags by the front door.
"You can't just throw your bag there!" My sister nagged and I rolled my eyes as I went to the bathroom to wash my hands. I made my way to the kitchen to make a fresh fruit salad. "How was your day anyways?" I asked my sister. She stayed home so the furniture delivery people find someone at home. My dad had a meeting somewhere so she sacrificed her education for that, my dad was redesigning the house and we were in full support. I heard the notification sound of my phone and I checked it.
jermaine.sage started following you
I instantly choked on some pineapple juice and I threw my phone away from me. My sister was so confused and she kept asking me what's wrong but I didn't say anything. All I could do was rush to my room so I could react accordingly.
