Sibling Moments

So I was compromised. I teleported back to my room and grabbed as much oil as I could and fled. I had no particular destination in mind, just kept running.

"What happened back there?" Doll asked, appearing out of nowhere.

"SHIT! Don't sneak up on me!" I yelled.

"Apologies, that was not my intent. Could you answer the question though?" she responded.

"Sure. So Uzi's Solver made her go completely feral. She killed a bunch of students, I in turn brought out my Solver to fight back. I was able to hold her off, no surprise considering I have more experience. V showed up, and was able to hold the two off for a short while, but decided to retreat before N showed up," I summarized.

"I see, well I have news. We need to go to a location known as Cabin Fever Labs," Doll said.

"What for?" I asked.

"To find a cure for the Solver!" Doll yelled.

"Really? I mean, the powers it gives are pretty cool, it'd be super hard to give that up," I said.

DOLL'S POV

Was he serious!?! Did he not know how dangerous this was!?! Then again I've had it longer, so perhaps I needed to properly explain this.

"Listen, I more than anyone know how thrilling it can be to wield this power. But it comes with a terrible cost, and I don't mean consuming other drones. It wants to use us to consume the planet!" I yelled.

Crawler's expression suddenly shifted to a nervous one, he was about to respond when we were interrupted.

"You! You're supposed to be dead!" I heard.

A Murder Drone showed up along with...a human!?

"Now hold on J, no need for hostility quite yet," the human said.

Crawler's expression shifted from nervousness to surprise.

"Could say the same for you. Last I saw, Uzi vaporized you," Crawler snapped back with an aggressive smile.

"Effective drones were cloned more," the Murder Drone replied.

"Easy everyone, we're not here to fight each other. We're here to fight Cyn, the embodiment of the Absolute Solver," the human said.

What? Was she serious? Could she finally bring this to an end?

"Is that right? What exactly do you have planned? How would the four of us do anything? You're human, you'd die outside the suit due to the toxic atmosphere. Just a little damage and you are gone. From what I've seen and heard, the Solver can most likely use us as puppets. J...I guess you could fight, but if my and Doll's strength is any indication, then the literal embodiment of our power would tear you apart," Crawler said.

Quite the pessimistic view, though completely understandable.

"You're quite the downer, ain't ya?" the human said.

"Just telling it how it is. Also you're as much an effective drone as I'm a Disassembly Drone," Crawler said.

The Murder Drone didn't like that, and she brought out her weapons, "YOU LITTLE!!!"

"BRING IT!!!" my idiot brother said, activating his Solver.

"J! Stand down!" the human yelled.

"You too Crawler! They could be useful to us!" I yelled.

The 2 didn't look very happy, but listened.

"Fine, you deal with them yourself. I'm going back to Camp 98.7, meet me when you're done," Crawler yelled before teleporting away.

TIMESKIP

I had a lead, I finally had a chance to dispel this curse. I couldn't wait to tell Crawler the good news! When I met him however, he looked annoyed.

"So how'd it go?" he asked.

"Amazing. I now know for certain what we need to do. We're missing one vital thing however," I said.

"And what would that be?" he asked.

"The key to gain access to the lower levels of the labs. Said key is one of those robotic insects, it has green lights and is with Uzi," I explained.

Crawler responded with a sigh, and gave me a solemn look.

"Look, I haven't been entirely honest with you. I've been keeping secrets, and now I think I should tell you," he said in a tone I've never heard from him, it surprised and concerned me.

"I have talked with Cyn. Yes, the Solver herself. And in order to save both of us from a terrible fate, I agreed to help her with her goal," Crawler confessed.

The look on my face said it all, before I could respond he continued.

"Now, I know how that sounds. But it was the best solution I could think of. Don't worry, the deal was I help with killing and destroying specifically, not you. Also Cyn agreed to keeping some drones alive, so pick your favorites and be ready for planet annihilation," he concluded.

I stood immoble for a few seconds, before backhanding him. I couldn't use my Solver on him so I resorted to that. I then flew into a furious tangent and gave him a verbal lashing, I couldn't believe he was siding with it! By the time I stopped I couldn't believe his reaction. He was cowering and looked like he was about to cry. This shocked me because this was the first time I've ever seen him react in such a way. The hallucinations, his fight with the Murder Drone trio, getting stabbed in the head, none of those made him react like he was now. I sighed, he may be insane with an enormous oil lust, but he wasn't heartless. He saw me as his only family, so I could see why he'd make such a deal if it meant protecting me. That did make me curious of something.

"Crawler...what happened to your family? You've never said anything about them," I asked.

He calmed down, then sighed.

"I....I can't really explain this. I'd need to show you my memory, but I don't know how to do that," he explained.

"I can work with that, just let me into your head," I said.

"Alright. Just please don't do anything....I dunno,rash? I dunno, just do it," he said.

Well now I was really curious, albeit concerned. I went into his head and was shocked by what I saw. Was this really his past? That couldn't be possible, the Solver may have unbelievable abilities, but even then I have trouble believing it could turn a human into a drone. Additionally he has had hallucinations before, so this is likely all in his head. Wow....I didn't know what to say. I mean what does one say to a loved one suffering from delusions.

"So...did you see everything? What will you do now?" Crawler asked.

Ok, I had no idea how to deal with this.
