Logan

"What the fuck are you talking about?" Grinding my teeth, I glared at him, filling my gaze with all the hatred I could muster.

"Those men did quite a number on you. If my men wouldn't have interfered, they would have killed you," he continued in his serious tone, ignoring my question while watching me cautiously as one would a ticking bomb.

 His men?

Did he have men follow me?

 Why?

He left Mom years ago, so why did he have men follow me? Why save my life? And what was he saying about assuming I was dead?

What game was he playing?

"I asked you what I am doing here?" I repeated the question with a clenched jaw.

"I had you flown from London. Couldn't let my son die," creases formed on his forehead at my tone.

He disapproved of it.

Like, I fucking cared.

"I am not your fucking son," I spat with disgust.

"You can deny all you want, Logan, but I am your father," he clipped.

"The father who offered my mother money to abort me," I roared, struggling helplessly to get up.

"I made a mistake. And I regretted it my whole life," he sounded guilty, but I would know better than to trust him.

He wanted to kill me when I was nothing but an undifferentiated mass of flesh. How could I trust such a man?

"Why now?"

"I came back looking for your Mom years ago when you would have been two years old, but Richard Williams lied to me that your mother died giving birth to a still child," he answered.

His words were like an explosion to my senses. Did he really come back for Mom? Or was he lying? Why was he lying?

"I don't believe you," I pursed my lips and turned away from him.

"You will when you meet Richards's old secretary. He was the one who told me you were alive," He stated in a calm voice, making me face him again.

"Why would Richard Williams do that?" I didn't believe him even for a second.

Richard Williams was the closest to a father figure I had all my life, and that man who was my sperm donor told me that Richard had hidden my existence from him.

"Because we had a fallout," he disclosed, "Richard and I were business partners. I met your mother on a business trip to England."

"Mom told me that much," I snapped.

"Did she tell you that Richard and I ended the partnership a few months before you were due?" He stared at me with a questioning gaze.

Mom didn't tell me that Richard had ended the partnership with my father only months after he abandoned my mother.

"What's the relation between you ending the partnership and Richard lying to you?"

I was unable to put the dots together; exhaustion was catching up with me, and my mind felt dizzy from all the information that he was throwing at me.

"He suffered huge losses because of it and got back to me by lying about you and your mom's death."

Wow.

That was some information. He meant to say Mom and I were casualties in the power play between him and Richard Williams.

"Why didn't you try to confirm if we died or were alive?"
