Christina

I knew something was wrong when Logan called and asked me to come to his penthouse. The way he fired Bertha yesterday because she brought Aiden to meet me made it clear that he didn't want me anywhere around Aiden.

Looking at Aiden's pale face cleared all my doubts. My son wasn't well, and the reason was no one else but his father. Logan got so blinded by his quest for revenge that he didn't even care how it might hurt Aiden.

Brushing aside Aiden's hair from his forehead, I checked for any signs of fever. Thankfully, he didn't have any temperature at the moment. But there were still dried tears on his once healthy cheeks, which had lost all color and turned pale. He looked like a shadow of the child he used to be two days ago.

A wave of anger surged through my body, and I turned and marched out of Logan's bedroom. I found Logan sprawled on a couch in the living room with his eyes closed.

"What did you do to him?" I hissed,  not caring to hide or suppress my anger.

Logan opened his eyes, which were bloodshot red, and sat up on the couch, "He was having a fever," his tone was guilty.

"He hadn't had a fever in months. Aiden is a perfectly healthy child with much better immunity than kids his age," I took a step towards Logan aggressively.

All I wanted to do at that moment was slap Logan for being an infuriating pig. If anything happened to Aiden, I wouldn't think twice before killing him. How couldn't he consider how getting separated from me would affect Aiden?

"Kids fall ill all the time, Christina," Logan's voice strained as he tried to suppress his anger.

"No, they don't for no reason. My son is ill because you didn't think how hurt he would be," I screamed.

Logan shot to his feet with a jerk, and I stumbled back a step as he straightened to his full height. Tilting my chin up, I glared at him, not giving a fuck about his enraged state.

Enough was enough.

Especially when my child's well-being was concerned, Logan needed to pull his head out of his ass. Letting him vent his anger on me for what I did to him didn't mean I would allow him to hurt my child.

"Yes, like you and your father didn't think about me and my mother," Logan thundered, "how does it feel to be on the receiving end, Christina?"

Bastard.

Logan was lost. He got so blinded by his hate that he was unable to think rationally. Arguing with him would do no good to me.

"I am taking Aiden with me," I announced and was about to turn when Logan grabbed my arm.

"You aren't going anywhere, and neither is Aiden," he growled.

I tried pulling my arm from his hold, but he held it in an iron grip, "Leave my arm, Logan."

I kept struggling in his hold while he glared at me with his smoldering gaze. I returned his glare with one of my own, not in a mood to back down this time.

"I. Said. You. Are. Not. Leaving," Logan declared through gritted teeth.

"I am not letting you hurt Aiden anymore," I cried out in frustration, failing to escape his hold.

"Do you think you are here because I want to hurt Aiden?" Logan demanded, "If I wanted to hurt him, I would never have called you Christina. Because there is no one in this world, I hate more than you."

"I don't care what you want. My son is ill because of you," I shrieked in agitation and was finally able to free myself of his hold, or maybe he loosened his grip.
