"Why are you here?" The words slipped through my mouth before I could stop them.

Talia arched her brow at me, "Really?"

"I mean, you were going to stay at the hotel," I tried to walk past her into the living room, but Talia grasped my arm.

"Why can't you just leave him alone?" She hissed.

"Excuse me?" I pulled my arm from her hold with a jerk, set Aiden on his feet, and then turned to Talia.

I didn't want to have any discussion with her, but she made it inevitable. Logan turned my life into a living hell since the moment he returned, and Talia accused me of being after Logan.

"Why did you have to return to his life?" She crossed her arms over her chest above her swollen belly.

"Go to your room," I instructed Aiden in a gentle voice.

Aiden, who stared at Talia with a wary expression, looked uneasy to leave my presence.

"It's alright," I assured him, and he turned and left.

I diverted my attention to Talia after Aiden reached the staircase's landing.

"Why don't you confront your boyfriend regarding this instead of interrogating me," I replied to her in a calm voice.

Whatever twisted relationship she and Logan shared was none of my business. Logan had been with Sierra even before he got involved with me. If he had been sleeping with other women even when he had a girlfriend, it meant that she wasn't doing a good job of keeping him sated.

"You bitch, do you think he gives a fuck about you?" She took a threatening step toward me.

"I don't expect anything from him, but it doesn't look like he gives a fuck about you, either," I taunted.

If Talia thought she could bully me, she was in for a surprise. I tolerated Logan's behavior towards me because I knew he was hurt by how I ditched him. I owed Talia nothing, and she had no right to try and mistreat me.

"You gold-digging whore," Talia snarled in an enraged voice.

"Mind your language," I shot back in the same tone, "you may be his girlfriend, but it doesn't give you any right to insult me."

Talia's hands fisted at her sides from her fury, and I glared at her with absolute calm. There was no use getting riled up at her insults. She was like a wounded lioness trying to hurt anyone in her vicinity.

"It's money that you want from him, right?" She glared, "You ditched him because he was a nobody, and now he is a billionaire. You came back, and that too with a child, claiming to be his," Talia accused.

My God.

How could she be so delusional?

"You might have fooled Logan, but I don't trust even for a moment that the boy is Logan's," she spat with loathing, "a slut like you who sleeps with whoever comes her way surely can go to the extent of lying about her child's father," Talia shrieked.

"How dare you?" My hand lifted on its own accord and left a mark on her cheek.

Talia stared at me in utter shock with her hand on her cheek, unable to comprehend that I slapped her. I could have tolerated her insults if she had limited herself to me, but she involved Aiden in it, and I couldn't hear a single word against him.

"Get out of here before I do something I might regret," I warned her.

The Williams blood flowing through my veins simmered with rage. I wronged Logan. That was the only reason I endured his punishments. I believed that I paid for my sins for hurting Logan and breaking his heart.

"I am not going anywhere until I throw you out of his life," Talia's voice held determination.

She turned and strode to the coffee table, then pulled out a checkbook from her handbag. Signing a check, she turned to me and threw the check at my face.

"This is a check for ten million dollars. Take it and leave with your son," she offered.

I watched her in disbelief. Did she really believe that I would leave Logan for ten million dollars if I were after his money? He was a billionaire, and I could get a hundred times more from him than what Talia offered me.

"Did you know I left behind a few hundred million in inheritance when I came to the US?" I questioned Talia in amusement.

"Then why are you after Logan if not for his money? When you ditched him years ago?" Talia seemed taken aback by the revelation.

If only I could explain to her what I wanted from Logan because I wasn't sure myself. I hated Logan for what he did to me, but still, there was a part of me that never stopped caring for him or loving him. His cruel behavior broke my heart, but the thought that he still wanted me, even after what I did to him, made me look past all his ruthlessness.

"Logan forced me into a contract," I replied.

"Then take the money and leave. Hide someplace, Logan couldn't find you. He was doing good without you, and since you have returned to his life, Logan is losing himself," Talia suggested.

"I can't run away."

"Why not?"

I pursed my lips, not sure how to explain it to Talia. Aiden had always longed for his father, and when he finally had him in his life, I couldn't take that away from him. Nor could I do it to Logan again.

"You have been gone for the past four years. You can spend the rest of your life somewhere far away. I will pay you more if you want. Just leave Logan alone," Talia was in hysterics.

"Talia, I can't do this. I can't leave. My mom is ill. She is struggling between life and death, and I can't leave her in this condition," I tried to reason with her.

"Then take her with you. I will pay for her treatment. Just go away from here. I don't want you to ruin him again. It had taken me years to fix him, and I can't watch him break again, and I know that's what you will do," Talia screamed.

I watched Talia helplessly. It was clear how much she cared about Logan and loved him. If Logan loved her back with the same intensity, none of us would have been caught in that situation.

"I am sorry, Talia," I murmured, shaking my head, "I won't betray Logan again."

"Why not?" She shrieked, "You don't even love him. You left him to die, then why can't you just go away from his life?"

"I never tried to kill him, and I left him to protect him from the people who threatened to kill him," my voice got heavy as the incidents of that fateful day began playing before my eyes.

"You are lying," Talia strode to me in anger, "you are lying," she repeated in hysterics.

I kept shaking my head, "You can think whatever you want, Talia. But I won't leave from here without Logan's knowledge," it got difficult for me to keep my composure.

"Why, just why?"

"I won't separate my son from his father ever again. I made a mistake earlier, but I won't repeat it," I declared in a firm voice.

"What comes next? A wedding? More children?" Talia asked, aghast.

I stayed silent in reply. I had nothing left to say. Talia could think or say whatever she wanted, but I would not entertain her anymore. Indeed, I needed to talk to Logan about that situation and what he thought about Aiden and his future. He was having a child with Talia, and I didn't want to separate him from his child or Talia. Logan needed to make a choice. He couldn't have the best of both worlds.
