98: Maintenance Is Key - S

Chase gets roped into something important. And after much delay, I am here to finally finish this book once and for all!

"Let's see if I am understanding this correctly." Chase says, pulling the previous events together. "You have Blades cuff himself to me in order to bring me in here, rope me to this chair I currently sit in just to talk about maintenance?"

"You make it sound like we kidnapped you." Bumblebee points out. "But, yeah, pretty much."

"And both of you are ok with this?" Chase looks to Heatwave and Blades, who also happen to be in the room.

"I technically put my out of office on, so," Heatwave technically had no jurisdiction as to what was going on right before him. "Carry on."

"Chase, everyone knows how terrible you are at maintenance." Blades says, making sure to put some concern in his voice. "I'm just a little worried that you aren't maintaining yourself very well."

"Blades, is this about my appointment last week?" Chase asks, finding this to be a little much for a normal check-up. "I told you everything is fine."

"Then why does the receipt have 40 extra on it?" Blades questions.

"Wait, I thought this was for the call I got yesterday about the certain levels being low." Heatwave finds himself confused now.

"You got a call about that?!" Chase says.

"When they are as low as they said, yes." Heatwave says. "If you don't fix it that quickly I would technically have to put you on leave due to the standards."

"Yeah but that isn't 40 extra." Blades says. "Besides, that was already on it and I told him to get it done."

"Guys, can I talk to him alone?" Bumblebee and Heatwave knew those words meant it was time to go, making sure to head out and close the door behind them.

There was a moment of silence between the two, one who has answers all while the other has multiple questions.

"So, are you going to explain?" Blades questions.

"The day before the appointment, I was having that pain." Chase admits. "I panicked a bit and asked them to run the tests. Luckily, they said I was all fine and it was more than likely a stretch the wrong way, that's the extra 40 charge."

Blades was silent as he process that.

"I didn't want to worry you if I told you about it." Chase tells him. "I'm sorry I didn't tell you."

"Chase," Blades sounded a bit broken. "Would you have told me eventually?"

"Yes, of course." Chase says. "I only kept it for you so you wouldn't worry, and even if it was bad I would've told you right away or you would've noticed me extremely upset."

"That is very true." Blades says. "Do I need to untie you now?"

"Yes, please." Chase answers. "I would've busted out but I am very much tied down. You guys did good."
