Maybe she was overthinking it.

Sighing, Mo Ran patted her slightly hot cheeks. She suddenly remembered that her bath towel was still in the bathroom. She wanted to get it but didn't dare go back, so she just sat outside, planning to go in after they finished washing.

She slumped on the sofa in this person's house, bored, and swiped through her phone. She had taken this phone from the mall, the latest model from a certain fruit company. It was very expensive. In the past, she wouldn't even dare to look at it.

Now, they were everywhere in the mall. As long as you were lucky, anyone could grab a stack. But there wasn't much fun in having one. The internet had been down for a long time. The phone now only had the built-in camera, flashlight, and alarm clock functions that could still be used.

But the pixels were really good.

She turned on the front camera and admired her face, which seemed to have gotten darker, in the original camera. It had only been a little over a month since the apocalypse, but her skin already had a rough texture as if it had been weathered.

"You need to use some skincare products," Mo Ran frowned, and the girl on the screen frowned too. She brushed aside her hair, which was getting too long and covering her eyes. Her striking golden eyes seemed to be glowing as they peered out from the screen.

If you looked closely, you could see that the patterns in her pupils had changed slightly. It was as if something had been added, or something had been taken away. In any case, they were much prettier than before.

Mo Ran silently watched for a while, then turned on the beauty filter. The smoothed-out skin tone made her much happier.

"Click." She tilted her head and gave a confident smile. A selfie.

Another with her hand in her hair, a cold expression. A pouty, cute one. A 45-degree angle looking up at the ceiling, lost in thought. She adjusted her collar, revealing her collarbone slightly, and bit her lower lip, her eyes softening.

"Click." Two pairs of curious eyes suddenly appeared in the photo.

One pair was black and shiny, the other pair had vertical pupils and a hint of fierceness. Mo Ran's hand trembled, and her phone drew a perfect parabola in the air before landing on the ground.

"Crack." The sound of the screen shattering.

"What are you doing?" A soft voice spoke as two slender hands reached through her neck, cold and cool, wrapping around her.

Her hair, still wet with water droplets, tickled her cheek. Mo Ran's heart skipped a beat, and she jumped up from the sofa and turned around.

Zhang Wan Ying looked at her in confusion, her hand still outstretched, her whole body leaning against the back of the sofa. The cat girl, with two large ears sticking up, narrowed her eyes and licked the back of her hand.

The scene was awkward for a moment.

"Just, just taking pictures for fun, haha." Mo Ran laughed awkwardly, changing the subject. "Are you guys done washing?"

Zhang Wan Ying nodded obediently. "Haven't you washed yet? There's still water in the bathroom. Do you want me to help you..."

Take a shower.

Before she could finish the last three words, the other girl roared like she had exploded. "No!!"

"Oh, oh!" She was startled by the roar and was stunned. She instinctively replied.

Mo Ran came to her senses and realized that she had overreacted. She felt uncomfortable all over and her gaze drifted. "I, I mean I can... um, that, I'm going."
