"Ro, try to eat something. At least let's go out. Do you want to spend the whole day in the room?" asked Virat.

It was already 3 p.m., and they had been sitting in the same position for a long time.

Rohit remained silent. He wasn't regretting his decision but was lost in thought, reflecting on how he had lost a friend because his feelings were unclear.

He knew Neha well enough to understand that she would never come back to him as just a friend. But for Rohit, her friendship had meant a lot.

Virat, on the other hand, had been there for him the entire time, simply offering his presence without asking for anything in return.

Their practice session had been canceled because of heavy rain outside, and everyone had decided to stay in their rooms for a while longer.

"Let me at least order something for you, okay? Try to eat a little, for me. Then we can sit in silence again if you want," Virat suggested gently.

Rohit finally released the arm he had been holding and moved from the couch to the bed, as Virat ordered lunch. When the food arrived, Virat took a bite and offered it to Rohit.

"Please eat, Ro. I don't want you to fall sick," he said, his concern evident.

Rohit ate, hearing the soft worry in Virat's voice. He knew that Virat would be there for him, no matter what, but he needed time to process everything that had happened.

While Virat continued talking to distract him, Rohit found himself barely listening. He was consumed by the thought of how being with Virat made him feel genuinely happy.

Virat had always been his "happy place." He'd known it for a while, but now it was clearer than ever.

"Ro, where are you lost? Last bite!" Virat said, nudging him to finish his food.

Rohit took the final bite, and once he was done, Virat stood up. But then, he stopped when he felt Rohit's hand grab his wrist, pulling him back down.

"When are you going to eat?" Rohit asked, picking up another plate from the side table and serving food to Virat.

Virat didn't argue and took the bite offered to him. It was Rohit, after all, and he wouldn't refuse him.

Once they were done, Virat cleaned up and sat beside Rohit. The chilly weather prompted him to grab a warm blanket, covering both of them.

He put on their favorite series to watch for a while, hoping it would help ease the tension in the room.

After a few minutes, Rohit, without saying anything, cuddled up to Virat, surprising him.

Rohit's head rested on Virat's chest, his hand on Virat's waist. Virat wasn't sure why, but at that moment, he realized it wasn't just Virat's words that reassured him; it was his physical presence. It was more comforting than anything he could say.

"Ro?" Virat asked softly, careful not to upset him further.

Rohit just pulled him closer. "Please, Vi, don't ask anything. I won't be able to answer. Just let me stay like this... If you're uncomfortable," he stopped, looking up to gauge Virat's reaction.

Virat smiled and stroked Rohit's cheek. "It's nothing like that, idiot. I can never be uncomfortable with you. Keep that in mind."

Rohit smiled, a small but grateful smile, and laid his head back on Virat's chest. Virat wrapped one arm around his shoulder and stroked his hair with the other, silently offering his comfort.

"You know, Vi, you are my happy place," Rohit said after a few minutes.

"Happy place?" Virat asked, confused.

"There's this thing... when you find solace and comfort, a place where you can pour out your feelings without fear of judgment. A place that will never abandon you, no matter what happens. For some, it's a city like Delhi or Paris, but for me, it's always been you. Today, when my mind was a mess, all I wanted to do was talk to you. I realized it late, but yeah... you are my happy place," Rohit said with such sincerity and warmth that it made Virat's eyes well up with tears.

Rohit felt the wetness on his hand and looked up to see Virat's tears.

Since they were lying on the bed, with Rohit resting on his side and Virat leaning against the bed, Virat's tears had fallen onto Rohit's hand.

"Vi?" Rohit asked, surprised by the sight.

Virat hugged him tightly, burying his face in his neck. This caused them both to lie down fully, with Virat now holding Rohit close.

"I... how?" Virat mumbled, struggling to comprehend how he had become so important to Rohit, something he never imagined.

"Just by being you," Rohit said, rubbing Virat's back and patting his head gently.

Virat tightened his embrace, unwilling to leave any space between them.

Rohit welcomed it, feeling the warmth of Virat's affection.

They stayed in that position, neither of them wanting to let go. But eventually, Virat realized the closeness.

Though he would have stayed like this forever, he didn't want to make things awkward for Rohit.

Virat tried to move a little, but Rohit held on, not allowing any space between them.

"Isn't this awkward for him?" Virat wondered. But as if reading his thoughts, Rohit shifted even closer, eliminating the small gap Virat had tried to create.

Virat noticed how their legs were tangled. If they moved, Rohit would end up on top of him. What had started as comfort now felt a little different—Virat's heart was racing, and his thoughts were a whirlwind.

Rohit nuzzled his face into Virat's neck, breathing in his scent. Virat shivered, goosebumps covering his skin from the touch.

"Are you planning to sleep like this, Ro?" Virat asked, trying to sound casual but struggling to control his emotions.

Rohit nodded against his neck and whispered, "It just feels so good."

Then, as they grew more comfortable, they were too tired to stay in one position. Rohit shifted slightly, and suddenly, Virat was lying on his back with Rohit on top of him.

"Oh, fuck," Virat cursed quietly, trying to calm the chaos inside him. The proximity was overwhelming.

As Rohit was so close to him, Virat gave in—he knew this was the only moment. The next morning, everything would be different. Rohit would once again be his best friend, and Virat would have to switch back into "best friend mode."

"Ugh... what am I thinking?" Virat wondered, lying wrapped in Rohit's embrace.

Before he could even ask Rohit anything, he felt his even breathing against his neck. Rohit was asleep.

"He's such a baby sometimes," Virat thought, noticing how tightly Rohit was holding onto him, as if afraid he might vanish.

Virat couldn't sleep. He wanted to freeze this moment in time. He just kept staring at Rohit, as if he could do it forever without ever getting tired.

He knew what he felt, but what about Rohit? Was this something that friends would do?
