The next morning, Virat noticed Rohit shifting slightly, indicating that he was waking up.

Virat had barely slept, too caught up in his thoughts. And honestly, he had been soaking in the feeling of having Rohit so close to him. It was stuff out of his dreams, to say the least.

Rohit, on the other hand, was trying to open his eyes. When he did, he noticed skin, he realized his face was pressed against Virat's neck.

It didn't feel awkward to him in the least; all he felt was warmth.

He tried to get up, but in the process, his legs brushed against Virat's, sending a jolt through Virat's body. He had to shut his eyes tight to calm the sensations rushing through him.

Rohit looked at Virat's face as he was on top of him, noticing that he was still asleep, his features relaxed, how perfect he was.

He couldn't help it; he reached out and gently stroked Virat's forehead. The action made Virat stir and open his eyes.

When their gazes met, Rohit quickly withdrew his hand.

Virat was shocked to see Rohit so close. His eyes were still heavy with sleep, and his face wore that familiar morning look—slightly dazed but still beautiful.

Virat couldn't control himself. He moved his hand to Rohit's face, tracing his fingers gently over his cheeks. His hand then moved to wipe the corner of Rohit's eye, where a bit of sleepiness remained.

Rohit could feel his face heating up with every touch, not just from the softness and calmness of Virat's gestures, but also from something else, something deeper.

Virat slowly moved his hand down from Rohit's face to his neck. He traced his fingers along the back of Rohit's neck, causing Rohit to close his eyes, overwhelmed by the sensation. He couldn't quite describe what he was feeling— just that it was so much.

Virat's gaze lingered on Rohit's lips for a moment, but before he could even fully register what he was doing, he snapped out of it and immediately pulled his hand away.

Virat cleared his throat, "Umm... we should get up," he whispered, his voice shaky. "It's morning, and we have practice today."

Rohit also realized the situation and quickly sat up. "Yeah," he said quietly, still trying to process everything that had happened.

Virat, trying to keep things normal, suggested, "You get ready first. We can have breakfast downstairs today if you're feeling okay?", he didn't even trust himself for now to be alone with Rohit.

He could feel his hormones acting up now. His emotions were all over the place.

Rohit nodded, still feeling confused. "Yes, sure. We'll have it with everyone."

As Rohit took a shower, his thoughts were racing, "What just happened? How come it wasn't awkward? I enjoyed it... Virat looking at me like that, the position we were in... He couldn't understand what had just passed between them. They were best friends, but this wasn't something friends do, was it?"

"Were they really only best friends"

Once Rohit was done freshening up and came out, Virat went straight into the bathroom without acknowledging him. But once inside, all he could smell was Rohit's scent, lingering in the room, making his heart race again.

Virat came out after his shower, and noticed that Rohit was no longer in the room. He didn't think much of it and headed downstairs for breakfast.

As usual, he sat next to Rohit. "Ro, you have to eat properly, okay?" Virat said, pushing more food onto Rohit's plate. He tried to keep things casual, not wanting to make it awkward.
