The next morning, Virat got up first.
They had to meet the team on time today, so he woke up early to make sure they reached on time.
He was trying to get up but could not, as Rohit was holding him tightly in his arms.
"Ro, let me get up. You can sleep more while I freshen up first," Virat said softly.
"I can't sleep without you, so stay here. We will freshen up together later," Rohit said, pulling him closer.
Virat just chuckled at his whining to sleep more.
"Ro, uth ja. We can't be late today to meet the team. And if we get late, they will barge into the room," Virat said, gently caressing his cheek.
Rohit was not budging at all. Virat had no option but to empty a glass of water on his face, which made Rohit loosen his grip around Virat.
"Vi, what the hell!"
"As much as I love you, don't forget we are best friends first," Virat said, laughing at his face before heading into the bathroom, while Rohit just sulked outside.
Rohit freshened up and was setting his hair in the mirror while Virat was speaking to his manager outside.
When Virat came back inside, he saw Rohit giving him the silent treatment. He back-hugged him, but Rohit didn't look at him.
"Ro, after practice, we will be together in the room. You can cuddle me as much as you want. I just don't want to, you know, give them any reason to doubt us before we begin to tell them," he said softly.
Rohit's sulking mood immediately went away as he saw Virat requesting him cutely. He couldn't resist his cuteness.
"Baby, stop making that cute face, otherwise we will be late," Rohit said, cupping his cheeks, making him blush.
"No, let's go. I'm hungry," Virat said.
Rohit pecked his nose, making him smile, and they went outside.
They entered the team room. Virat went and hugged Bhuvi, while Rohit hugged Jaddu. They met everyone one by one and then proceeded for breakfast.
"How was the holiday?" Jaddu asked Rohit as they picked up their plates.
Rohit couldn't help but look at Virat, who was busy laughing out loud with Ash and Bhuvi. The sight made him recall their time together, bringing a blush to his face.
Jaddu signaled to Jinks, who noticed it too—Rohit's eyes held something different as he looked at Virat.
"Ro, where are you lost?" Jaddu asked, snapping him out of his thoughts.
"Nowhere... the holiday was good! Refreshing!" Rohit said, quickly composing himself.
Virat and Rohit sat together with the team as everyone discussed the upcoming matches.
"Mahi Bhai!" Virat squealed like a kid and literally jumped up, rushing towards him.
"Careful, Vi/Virat/Veer!" everyone said in unison without even realizing it. They just looked at each other and chuckled at how much of a child Virat was.
"Maybe you're overthinking. See, we're all protective of him," Jinks whispered to Jaddu as both Rohit and Virat stood with Mahi.
"Didn't you see his blush when I asked about the holiday? I have a feeling they went somewhere together," Jaddu whispered back.
"I feel that too because they didn't even call anyone for ten days. Imagine—Virat not calling and cribbing about missing everyone? That can only happen when he's with Rohit... He forgets everything around him when Rohit is there," Ash added, joining Jaddu.
