Bhuvi, Ash, Jaddu, Jinks, and Mahi Bhai had already arrived at the team hotel. They were waiting for Rohit and Virat, whose flight had been delayed, as Virat had informed them via text.
As they sat together in Mahi Bhai's room, Jaddu broke the silence.
"Do you guys have any idea where Virat or Rohit were during this break?" he asked, looking at the others.
The four of them shook their heads.
"They must have just gone home, right? Why would they go anywhere else?" Jinks said, shrugging.
Jaddu leaned back, his brows furrowing slightly. "I don't know... I just feel like they've been acting a little different these days. Especially Rohit. The way he looks at Virat... it's different."
Bhuvi raised an eyebrow. "Different how?" he asked, intrigued.
Jaddu sighed, crossing his arms. "He's overly protective of Vi. I mean, we all are, especially since Virat can be a complete idiot sometimes. But Rohit... these days, he's too protective. Almost possessive."
Ash shrugged. "But they've always been like that with each other."
Mahi nodded in agreement. "Yeah, Jaddu. That's just how they are."
Jaddu frowned slightly. "Maybe... but just try to observe them. Maybe I'm reading too much into it, or maybe I'm right. Let's see."
Bhuvi stretched his arms with a yawn. "Well, their flight is delayed. Let's just go to sleep. We can meet them tomorrow—plus, we have training sessions too."
Everyone agreed and retired to their respective rooms for the night.
It had been a long flight. Rohit glanced down and noticed Virat sleeping soundly, his head resting on his shoulder.
He knew how much traveling exhausted Virat—it was one of the few things that could truly wear him out. Even hours in the gym didn't have the same effect.
Smiling fondly, Rohit pressed a gentle kiss to the top of Virat's head. In response, Virat instinctively snuggled closer.
"Vi, we're going to land soon. Wake up," Rohit murmured softly.
Virat stirred, rubbing his eyes groggily. Before he could fully wake up, Rohit reached out and gently pulled his hands away. Virat pouted at him, making Rohit chuckle.
Soon, they landed and made their way to the team hotel. Rohit had already texted the others about their delayed arrival.
As soon as they reached their room, Virat turned and wrapped his arms around Rohit, burying his face in his neck.
"Tired, baby?" Rohit asked softly, running his fingers through Virat's hair.
Virat simply nodded, his grip tightening around Rohit. They stood there for a while, wrapped in each other's warmth, neither wanting to let go.
Finally, Rohit pulled back slightly, cupping Virat's face. "Let's freshen up and then eat something, okay? I'll order dinner," he said gently.
"Will you let me go now?" Rohit asked, looking down at Virat, who was still clinging to him.
Virat shook his head against Rohit's chest, his grip tightening.
Rohit frowned slightly. He had noticed Virat's unusual silence—at the airport, during the flight, and even now.
Virat was always affectionate, but this level of clinginess was different. Something was on his mind.
After a while, Virat finally let go and went to freshen up, and Rohit followed after him.
Later, as they sat down for dinner, Rohit watched Virat absentmindedly playing with his food, pushing it around his plate rather than eating.
Frowning, Rohit scooted closer and gently took Virat's hand. Without a word, he picked up a bite of food and held it up to Virat's lips.
"Eat properly, love," Rohit murmured, his voice soft but firm.
Virat blinked at him before reluctantly taking the bite. Rohit stayed close, making sure Virat ate properly before finishing his own meal as well.
Virat stood by the window, gazing at the night sky, lost in thought.
Rohit walked up to him, gently cupping his cheeks. "What's going on in that chotu brain of yours?" he asked softly, tilting Virat's face toward him.
Virat hesitated before whispering, "What if they don't accept us?" His eyes were moist, fear creeping into his voice. "What if they don't like this?"
Rohit's heart clenched at the vulnerability in Virat's voice.
"I'm scared," Virat admitted, wrapping his arms around Rohit and burying his face in his chest.
Rohit immediately held him close, rubbing soothing circles on his back. "Listen, love," he said gently but firmly. "I know they will accept us. But even if they don't—no matter what, and I repeat, no matter who disapproves—I am never going to leave you, Vi. That's my promise to you."
Virat gripped his shirt tighter, breathing in his warmth.
"I care about our friends, but if they don't support us, we'll try to convince them," Rohit continued. "No matter what happens, we are always going to be together. Do you hear me, baby?"
Virat nodded against his chest, his grip on Rohit never loosening.
Rohit sighed, pulling back slightly to cup his face once more. "Now, let's rest. You were exhausted from all the traveling, right?"
Virat nodded sleepily, his heavy eyes blinking up at him.
Rohit couldn't resist his cuteness. He leaned in, pressing a quick kiss to his cheeks, then his lips. Virat's lips curled into a soft smile.
"I love you, Ro. Forever. I can never love anyone like I love you. You are my home," Virat whispered, his voice laced with pure affection. "The way you understand every emotion of mine without me even saying a word... I am just so grateful for you."
Rohit blinked, his heart swelling. Virat always had a way of expressing his love so openly, and it never failed to overwhelm him in the best way possible.
Rohit pulled Virat into another kiss, one that quickly deepened, turning passionate. It had become harder for them to keep their hands off each other ever since they had made love.
Their bond, once purely emotional, had now grown to include an undeniable physical intimacy—one fueled by love, trust, and an insatiable desire for each other.
What they shared was new, exhilarating, and something they both craved more of.
When they finally broke apart, gasping for air, their foreheads rested against each other's, soft smiles playing on their lips as they caught their breath.
Virat, with a playful smirk, tugged Rohit onto the bed, settling on top of him. He buried his face in Rohit's neck, placing lazy, featherlight kisses, his warm breath sending shivers down Rohit's spine.
Rohit let out a sigh of contentment, running his fingers through Virat's hair, pulling him impossibly closer. He relished the pampering, the tenderness of the moment, as Virat snuggled deeper into him.
After a while, Virat lifted his head, his drowsy eyes filled with warmth. Rohit smiled and kissed each eyelid softly, making Virat hum in satisfaction.
Wrapped in each other's arms, they let sleep take over, their hearts beating in perfect sync, cocooned in the love they had found in one another.
