S3C Chapter 52: To The Victors

Marie POV

Marie and Callie stepped out of the vehicle. Marie was blocking the sun's shining rays, while Callie just cockily smirked at Marie due to Callie being protected by a pair of sunglasses.

Marie just rolled her eyes with a smile before the two were rudely shoved apart as three people made their way past the two.

The trio, featuring an Octoling, Inkling, and Manta Ray, were posing in their glory for a few moments despite no one other than Callie and Marie even paying them any mind. However, the three quickly looked up at the large building in front of them.

Shiver & Frye: Whoooooa.
Big Man: Ayyyyyyy.

The three looked at each other before looking like they were ready to rush through the front doors.

Frye: Let's go explore the whole place!

Luckily for the staff, they were settled down before they could.

Marie: Hold it. Relax, you three.

Frye: But there's so much to see.

Shiver: So many valuable things.

Callie giggled while Marie sighed.

Marie: You'll have plenty of time to get kicked out later. We're not even checked in yet.

Callie: Besides, this is our celebratory victory after all.

Callie said cheerfully, reminding them why they were there.

Shiver: Hmph. I suppose we can hold off for a while first, for the bosses.

Frye: It'll be more fun to see the whole place together anyway.

Big Man: Ay ay ay. (It's also best to find out where we'll be staying before we get lost.)

Shiver and Frye just nodded along with Big Man's statement, seemingly as if similar events had happened to the three before.

Marie: Just stick with us for now.

Shiver: Stick to you like glue, got it boss.

Frye: Glue is ready!

Frye said as she started bringing out a bottle of glue from her pocket.

Marie: Wha- No. Why do you even have glue on you?

Frye: If you break anything in the room, they charge ya extra. But if you glue it back together, it'll be too late before they ever notice.

Marie shook her head while Callie looked like she was taking mental notes.

Marie: Just try not to break anything instead, you two.

Shiver: You two? I'll have you know, Big Man breaks plenty of stuff as well.

Shiver said, motioning her fan toward Big Man.

Big Man: Ay ay... (I'm too big and end up knocking things over...)

Big Man said embarrassedly.

Shiver and Frye patted Big Man on the back to comfort him.

Frye: For shame, Boss Marie.

Marie: Just follow us.

Marie said, ignoring the three's theatrics.

Marie led the way in through the front doors of the building, feeling the refreshing air conditioning after having been standing out in the heat.

Marie let Callie keep an eye on the three while Marie got them all checked in. She knew Callie would probably mess around with the three, but she was sure Callie would keep it tame at least, unlike the other three.
