S3C Chapter 78: Broadcast Band

Harmony POV

Harmony, the sea anemone and vocalist of the band, Chirpy Chips, was fiddling through stacks of retro video games casually inside of Hotlantis.

While she was doing that, Orion, the octopus who played bass for the band, and Sid, the crab who was the band's drummer, were hooking up the wires to the television.

Orion: Why don't we ever just leave this stuff plugged in?

Harmony: Because if we left them here, people would think they were for sale. You put the console right next to another one that is up for sale... or maybe the one you're plugging in is the one that's for sale.

Harmony spoke, unsure of which was which, but ignored it and went back to looking through the games anyway.

The calmness of the room was broken up as the door burst open to Clash, the Inkling who was the band's guitarist, as he immediately let his presence be known.

Clash: Hey hey! I'm here~. We ready to go yet or you three still setting everything up?

Sid: Three?

Sid questioned out loud the implication that Harmony was helping.

Harmony: Not yet. Orion taking his time.

Orion: It's not my fault. The shelves just make it hard to reach behind. If we had a splitter we could've- please stop messing with the console already.

He cut himself off as Harmony looked up from the console, setting it back down.

Clash: For real, don't need to be taking the console apart when we want it to work, haha. Unless we turn this into a music-making stream. Oh wait, but you already invited someone else to play games with us, huh?

Clash looked around, noticing the absense of any other guests.

Clash: Where is he anyway? You tell 'em the time?

Harmony: Mhm. He should be here.

Orion: What made you ask him anyway?

Harmony: One of you suggested we invite more people to be on the stream with us, and so we could get more people to fill matches with.

Orion: Yeah, but why him?

Harmony shrugs.

Harmony: He shows up shopping here a lot, so I asked if he'd wanna.

Clash: Simple, to the point, and all with that classic style Harmony. A lot like our music!

Clash said with a laugh.

Orion: Just make sure the stream side of things is set up and ready to go.

Harmony: On i~t.

She said without much energy as she popped open the laptop to check the stream software. Clash making sure to check over her shoulder and suggest more flair for the stream with designs around it all.

While spending a few minutes do that, the door to Hotlantis opened up, alerting someone had entered the shop.

Harmony did look up to check until Clash tapped her on the shoulder to look over.

Harmony: Oh, you're here, cool.

She said, greeting the nervous, large figure.

Big Man: Ay! (Thanks for inviting me!)

Harmony: No problem.

Clash: Yeah, it's so sweet to get to collab with the guy behind the freshest music in the Splatlands!
