S3C Chapter 66: Headline Event

Veronica POV

Veronica was sitting on the couch as she listened to (Y/N) rummaging around the home.

He walked out to the living room, finishing tying his suit's tie.

(Y/N): How do I look?

Veronica: You look like the spies from the movies.

She said with a smile, causing him to pose.

Veronica: But I think you are missing something.

He looked confused before noticing he was missing his shoes.

(Y/N): Ah crud, where are they? In my room, or-

Veronica: -Ahem.

She cleared her throat to get his attention, causing him to focus on her and see her waving his shoes.

(Y/N) smiled as he walked over and grabbed the shoes from her, happy that she was there to help him out.

(Y/N): What would I do without you?

Veronica: Sleep in.

(Y/N): Probably, yeah.

He said with a chuckle as he started putting on his shoes.

While doing so, there was a knock on the front door which Veronica got up to open. Upon opening it, Marina walked in with a stunning dress.

Veronica: Hello, Marina. You look very fresh with that dress.

Marina: Aww, thank you. I'm sorry again that you can't come.

Veronica: It is okay. I will be going for a night on the town with Eva and Liz instead.

Marina smiled at Veronica.

Marina: Well, at least you'll be enjoying yourself too.

Marina said, causing Veronica to nod before Marina then turned to (Y/N).

Marina: Now, are you almost ready?

(Y/N): Yeah, I've just got to finish tying my shoes.

Veronica: Do you need help?

(Y/N): No, I'm fine.

Veronica: First you do the bunny ears-

(Y/N): -I know about the bunny ears, Veronica.

Veronica: Okay, I was just making sure.

She said with a giggle as he finished up and stood up, showing off how he looks now.

Marina: I'm glad you look so handsome. I was worried you didn't have nice enough clothes for this kind of event.

(Y/N): Of course I do. I'm always ready to look my best. (At least, I am now that Shiver gave me this nice set of clothes a little while back.)

He said, thinking the last part to himself.

Marina: Good, because this kind of event does ask you to look your best.

She said before checking the time on her phone.

Marina: In fact, we should probably be on our way. Better to get there early for it all.

(Y/N): Sounds good to me. We'll be heading out then, Veronica. Have fun tonight.

He said as Marina led the way out the door.

Veronica: You have fun too!

She said as they then left her there alone.

Veronica stood there now alone and took out her phone while making a phone call, hearing it ring a few times before it was answered.
