S3C Chapter 72: Tense Tribal Tiff

Frye POV

Frye and Big Man were playing cards (the two betting on the game due to Frye's pushing) while (Y/N) was in the kitchen getting them all something to snack on.

Frye slammed down a card, causing Big Man to look absolutely flabbergasted as Frye snickered and dragged the money over to her side of the table while Big Man looked worried.

Meanwhile, Shiver was now entering the building, disconcerting herself in, drawing Frye's attention.

Frye: What's wrong with you? You look as upset as Big Man does after I just beat him outta all this cash.

Shiver: Ugh, you know what it is. My parents.

Shiver said with an eyeroll.

Fyre: Oh, that.

Big Man: You sure just talking to them wouldn't work?

Shiver: Positive.

Shiver sighed.

Frye: So, what are you gonna do?

Shiver: I'm not sure, I just-

(Y/N): -What's up? Hey Shiver.

(Y/N) said, walking into the room.

Shiver looked over at (Y/N) before looking him up and down.

Shiver: Are you still pretending to be Marina's boyfriend?

(Y/N): Yeees?

He answered her, confused as to where this was going.

Shiver: Great!

Shiver exclaimed as she clapped her hands together.

Shiver: I need a professional right now.

Frye: Ha! This will be great.

(Y/N): I regret speaking up.

Big Man: Ay- (Shiver, I'm not sure this is a good idea-)

Shiver: -Shush, Big Man. I have nothing but good ideas.

Shiver quieted Big Man's worrying statement.

(Y/N): What is it you want me to do?

Shiver: It's nothing much. I need you to pretend to be my boyfriend in order to get my parents off my back.

(Y/N): Are your parents that involved in your love life?

Big Man: Ayy. (Her parents want to set her up in an arranged relationship.)

(Y/N): Huh?!

Shiver: My parents are very traditional, and they also, for some reason, think I'm incapable of doing anything like this on my own. Which is why they want to set me up with someone they approve of. Which is where you come in.

She said, explaining the situation with her parents as if it were normal.

Shiver: We go in there, you present yourself well, I make it clear how happily in love we are, then we get out of there before you blow it.

She said, acting out with her hands the steps of her ingenious plan.

Shiver: Now, are you in or not? You wouldn't leave a lady in need, would you?

Shiver asked while putting on a pleading look that was obviously fake.

(Y/N): Yeah, yeah, cut it out. I was already going to help... This is too big a deal to ignore.

Shiver: Aww, thank you~.

Shiver said, giving her a hug while smiling with malicious intent behind his back, not that he didn't expect her to do it.
